Item Condition: very, very good used condition.
Shipping Options: Pickup available but audition is not available.
Suburb or Town: Albert Park
State: Victoria
Payment Method: Paypal plus 3%, cash on pickup, EFT once cleared.
Reason for selling: Surprise upgrade

Further information: This is an unexpected sale due to upgrade. I love this turntable and it plays extremely well. I actually thought I would never sell it but it will otherwise go to waste with a new tt on the way.

I begin this journey in December 2018 by purchasing an LP12 in excellent condition. This is an early model but the plinth is immaculate. This is what attracted me to it. It came with an as new lid which is still in great condition with on the slightest of dust marks if you look really closely.

As the purchase was primarily for the actual plinth, I looked at mod options and upgrading the tone arm. I then found the details of Edmund in Hong Kong and his Mober brand. Edmund was and still is a real gentleman to deal with. I decided to go with Mober DC Motor LPSU, upgraded Bearing, Upgraded Arm Board (Linn) and the upgraded Sub platter with bearing. At the same time, I changed the springs and grommets.

My journey was documented  it this forum:

As you can see, I also upgraded the tonearm to the latest Linn Akito 3b. This was purchased from Tivoli at a cost of $2900. This arm remains in excellent condition.

All up, my costs were approx $7500 but it was worth every cent.

I soon also became pedantic about set up and I purchased a setup table that does do the job and is a hell of a lot easier than my original three chairs method! This cost me $300 plus post from on here.

I will post plenty of pics, including the extras for the Linn I will no longer need.

To be clear, the following is included:

Linn LP12

- original plinth, top plate and baseboard/feet - One of the feet sits flat with the help of some blutak inside as the screw thread was worn (is an easy fix)- works fine as it is flat     and hold but full disclosure!

- Mober motor, bearing, sub platter and arm board

- the lid is aftermarket but excellent fit (it comes off and goes in easy) and great condition

- Linn Akito 3b - current model

- original Linn felt mat in excellent condition

Extras

- belt, springs and rubbers as per pics

- 2 bottles of Linn bearing oil purchased from Douglas HIFI

- Cork mat - I used this the most as the Linn mat sometimes sticks to records and I think sounds better

- set up table

NOT INCLUDED are the rubber isolation feet and isoacoustic ones in pics (I will use these on something else), kettle cord and my Lyra Delos Cart (being fitted to my new tt).

As there is no cart, nor can I demo anyway, I had my first go at a youtube video taken today. As can be seen, the Linn gets to speed quickly and holds it!

 I hope this link works!

Unfortunately this will be pickup only from Albert Park VIC 3206. I will not take the risk of post of something so delicate.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have a heap of pics so will further upload as I am allowed to do so.

Cheers,

Rod.

Just remember to put 2 chocks under the edge of the inner platter (opposite each other) when the TT is taken away. I use 2 pieces of styrofoam (carefully stored for the occasion) - but 2 matchboxes would do just as well.

This lifts the end of the bearing off the thrust plate at the bottom (preventing damage during transport).

And remove the outer platter.

GLWTS.

Andy

Yes gents, it is very difficult to let go but my wife was hassling me for what a wanted for my 50th last monday. Was hoping just to tour Europe but that died in the butt for obvious reasons. She was getting stroppy so to shut her up I said a Techdas Airforce V - There was a very good deal from Sonic purity for 3 month old demo with Kuzma reference 313 arm, full warranty etc The things we do to keep the peace!

The loose foot can be easily repaired with a toothpick or two and some pva glue.

Absolutely you can do this - I just never got around to it as didn't bother me nor affect anything. As can be seen in the pics, the foot hangs there no problem and when sitting with the weight on it, again no issue. This is a great tip though for any threaded out screw hole though. 👍

Item Condition: Very good Shipping Options: Pickup available and you can audition.,Shipping is available at agreed cost. Suburb or Town: Telopea State: NSW Payment Method: Paypay (as friend or 3% on top for fee), EFT, Cash on Pickup Reason for selling: Climbing up to a next MSB ladder Further information:
This is the first step if you want to climb to MSB world, the king of digital playback in hiend audio at this time. Although it is "entry level" in MSB world but a giant to other DAC manufactures on the market, you name it.  It inherits all the future-ready architecture, you can utilise/purchase modular modules which are shared in the Reference or Select DACs

      What special about this DAC?
      - MSB proprietary ladder DAC with fully balanced design and 2 x Prime DAC
      - Full thick CNC aluminium block to block EMI/RFI between each critical sections extremely well.
      - Dual power supplies which are two full block of CNC aluminium, one PSU powers digital section, one PSU powers analog section with fully shielded DC cables.
      - Network Renderer v2 is designed for Roon user from the ground up, it has galvanic isolation (opto isolator) to help the streaming module to effective immunise to any upstream noise/current leakage.
      - The implementation of SPDIF on their onboard/included manufacture option are top-notch, its sound great and consistent across all the input (AES/EBU, Coaxia and Optical)
      - You have access to MSB world-class customer service, for instance: 24-48  hour email response from technical support, normally CCed their CEO( Jonathan) if you have  a concern, so you are peace in mind your problem will be resolved.

      How does it sound?
      - I came from Chord Hugo TT2 , comparing with TT2+Mscaller+Sonore optical Rendu, this MSB DAC with its streaming module beats the Chord stack in every single way, many times worth for extra bucks.
      - People always say MSB DAC sounds analog, it is so true with Discrete DAC, it is miles better the analog system I owned ( Rega P9, Ortofon Cadenza Blue and Cyrus phono signature/psx-r2) which is around 13k  rrp combined.
So I sold my vinyl system without much thought required.
      - The vocal and singers voices are the most standout verus TT2+Mscaller

The DAC were purchased From MSB Distributor (Audio Fidelity/SGR Corp), has transferable warranty until Jan 2023.
I have full original boxes and all invoices. Warranty transfer can be done from my end by contacting distributor.

      Retailed prices: total $20,050
