Your verdict on the goth country of Gilded Palace?

*****

Here the most recent album played is Voice of the Beehive's "Honey Lingers" which gets a poor review on allmusic based on factors other than the songs, and a solid 4 stars as the overall rating from the listening audience. I'm with the listeners and not the critics on this one. I never thought I'd enjoy a cover version of The Partridge Family's "I think I love you".

edited to add the cover:

While not an essential Queen album, I think "Piece of my heart" and "You don't fool me" are essential tracks, Queen at what it does best.

YMMV of course.

Cheers,

Morning All,

Beginning the day with some ambience from Chronosphere by Alphaxone, a download from Bandcamp

Chronosphere.jpg.46d03304b8b61c10f0f879dbc80bdc8f.jpg

Info from Bandcamp:

Alphaxone is back with a new futuristic album ripe with detailed space sounds

The map is old and quite inaccurate. The slow creeping of years and centuries have wrought much change, even in these somnolent spires.

As you stride amongst primeval pillars, covered in moss and lichen, the whimpering of old gods can be heard in the grey and listless heavens above.
Their impotent tears spatter on your coat, each splash birthing translucent snakes, ever slithering southward to rest again in the blackened soil and mud.

The shimmer that surrounds the crash site is unmistakable, imbuing the mists and rain with a sickly pallor.
Dilapidated excavations loom around the edges of the gigantic crater, the darkness of their maws whispering of things best left buried.
After a brief climb, your boots find firm purchase on the charred glass of the site. A shiver works its way down your spine as understanding arises in your cortex.

20 years ago I would have

Too old for guitar rave ups to finish a song after a slow start

A lot of people here would though because Nick Cave is very popular

I was attracted to the name

And was a bit surprised that a band named after such a great country music record could have so completely passed me by😃

Does have a great moody sound to it which I guess is the comparison point with St Nick and I think I heard the name Jesus there somewhere

And the word evil is a good strong biblical word with multiple possibilities

It is there only album I think and I googled the singer but couldn’t find anything
