Definitely not underrated

Gets the best reviews for records and live performances

unfortunately quality and popularity are not linked

iif you you like Gillian Welch you would probably like traditional country music like Hank Williams Merle Haggard Johnny Cash Patsy Cline and The Carter Family because she plays a very traditional country music or hillbilly music which is what country music was originally called

Have only the one Gillian Welsh cd, Revival. I also flirted breifly with  Lucinda Williams.

I like Johnny Cash's Americana series. But more into Whiskey Town, Lambchop, Smog, Wilco, Calexico and Iron & Wine. I think it may come under the definition of Alt Country.

Throw in The National and Grizzly Bear. That's about as country as l go.

Not into Hillbilly or Bluegrass, the Tamworth sound, or Slim Dusty type of country. Or any Aus country. But that's just me.

But l go through stages. I'm enjoying all things Prog at the moment.

Death Cab For Cutie ‎– Plans. 2005. excellent indie lite album - I really should buy a couple more as this is the only one I own.

I really like Transatlanticism but definitely skip Codes and Keys.

Couldn't pick a better album for a few beers to wash the brain out at the end of another week wasted working, cheese and bikkies too.
