Not massively familiar with Tom Waits' older stuff but I am partial to Orphans and Bad As Me when the mood strikes.

New Order - Republic. I remember when this came out in 1993 - lots of negative reviews. I always thought it was excellent and who would think it would be NO's last great album.

Morning All,

Streaming from Bandcamp so far today, started with quiet piano by Endless Melancholy, Ayla Nereo, a hybrid Florence Welsh / Emmylou Harris and Moonwood, described as "techno-kraut" .

Currently playing: Sister Ray, Washington University, St Louis, May 1969.  I think I will spend my weekend on live VU and reflect on a life being lived well, for these couple of days at least.

Love me some Ayla Nereo ... inspired now to play the following:

Grandfather Gold - Grandfather Gold -- mellow acoustic tunes, kinda reminds me a bit of José Gonzalez, with some femme vox (including the dulcet tones of Ms Nereo on one track). "Name Yer Price" lossless download from Bandcamp.
