NIRVANA:UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK ( CD).

I rate this one. Perhaps the band's best recorded performance.

David Bowie: The Man Who Sold the World (LP).

Bowie's grunge album. The cover isn't the slightest bit camp, whatsoever.

Afternoon Fellas.

(Edit - Not so sure it was you Daz, was thinking of "Floating Me".)

This one was a recommendation from @Darren69 a while back.  I was whinging to Daz recently about not getting an album upon first listen.  It's not easy dedicating the time for another crack and sometimes that can hold up listening again for a while.

Many times it has been worth it though.  Those albums that didn't click at first are now some of my favourites and seem to hold their age well.

I just had a quick read on the wiki page, it suggests allowing this album some time.

Described as Progressive Rock/Metal, Alt. Rock & Space Rock, I think they're appropriate.

The intro is very unusual.  The second track didn't do much for me, something about the vocals.  The fourth track "The Wave" is an inter-dimensional rock out.

Amplifier  'The Octopus'  2011 Ampcorp. Industries.

It's a two album set, and as mentioned, dedicating the time can be a challenge.  I enjoyed the first set so much I'm about to have a listen to the second set.

Circuits Brasileiros 2 - V/A

Brazilian flavoured abstract electronica out of Japan. Picked up quite a few of these labels ( Soup/360l) on ebay for 1 cent each ;) some years ago and they're pretty good.

Is the LP substantially better?

Takes me back...The Honeymoon is Over was their only album I bought, and only album I ever listened to. Listening to this now on Tidal and the first track is unmistakeable Cruel Sea. Definitely a signature sound...

Hey Groovers and Shakers.

I listened to the second set of Amplifier's  "The Octopus", what a great album!

After spruiking about giving albums a fair chance when they don't click straight away, I decided to give this one a go, definitely recommended by @Darren69 a while back.  I did a few hours cleaning, organising and packing, giving some quality listening time...

"Floating Me" – Self Titled – 2010 Floatingme – Cross Section Records.

277170836_FloatingMeSelfTitled2010FloatingmeCrossSectionRecords..jpg.43c1af2473d131aceaa8e861f4cd0d0d.jpg

Another one that had me hooked about four songs in.  An example of being in the right mood for some music.  I've been listening to lots of new stuff, mainly Op Shop Cd's, so I'm wide open for new bands.

Wanted to delve a little darker, grittier and heavier...

Dopethrone  "Transcanadian Anger"  2018 Riff Dealer Records.

695397370_DopethroneTranscanadianAnger2018RiffDealerRecordsx1000.jpg.8f51c703957ff036b3d7427cc1cb9852.jpg

A bottom heavy beast of a ride aboard the altered perception train .  The vocals sound like what I think Satan himself would sound like.  Sabbath inspired, primal, riff heavy doom, with some killer hooks and a balance of tempo with a few tracks that really gallop (steam) along.  Not for the faint hearted.
