Maserati - Pyramid -- take a bit of krautrock, add a bit of hypnotic Dave Gilmour delay on the guitars, and you get Maserati. "Name Yer Price" lossless download from Bandcamp for today.

edit: including a remix by The Field. Noice.

I wonder if they will now call themselves 'The Dregs'?

Oh they are way ahead of 'The Chicks'😁.albeit for different reasons.....for their last two albums they were just called 'The Dregs'.....they dropped the Dixie in the hope of gaining more commercial success.....it failed and the Dregs/Dixie Dregs were no more.😯

Steve Morse (guitar) and Dave LaRue (Bass) have joined Mike Portnoy (drums) (Ex Dream Theatre), Neal Morse (Keys / vocals) (Spock's Beard, Transatlantic) and the incredible vocalist, Casey McPherson in a fantastic super group called Flying Colours (Colors if you can't spell proper Ingrish). This is one helluva great band with some very infectious and melodic prog rock material to enjoy from 4 recent albums.

Rod Morgenstein teamed up with Jordan Rudess (Dream Theatre) for a one off album in 1997, also joined Platypus which died in 2000 and also joined John Myung (bass) from D.T. in The Jelly Jam who released 4 average albums between 2002 and 2016

T Lavitz (keys) died in Octgober 2010 while the violinist, Jerry Goodman, (ex Mahavishnu Orchestra and The Flock has released 5 studio albums since 1974 with his 1990 release, Stranger's Hand" being highly regarded with a score of 3.99 / 5.0 on RYM.

What impeccable taste Sir!

Wobbler is one excellent band on top of Neal Morse & Fiona Apple.

How could you go wrong?

Love their album Third Degree. Which l have been playing a lot lately. Must get all their other albums.

But the Covid postal service leaves a lot to be desired. So will wait till things get back to normal. Could be quite sometime though.

So glad we got to the Brisbane concert just before the world closed down. Went into the city for some beers before the concert and pointed out to my mate that he was standing next to Adam Jones at an intersection whilst we were waiting to cross the road. By the time he believed me we had all moved on 😁

sixties and seventies flavours in this restful melodic singer-songwriter pop-rock album. Understatedly sweet.

I like this girl - Soccer Mommy is  Sophie Alison -  a singer songwriter who sings with a gentle voice, writes songs with beautiful melodies and intelligent lyrics.

Soccer Mommy joins a wavelet of young women — along with Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski and many others — who are using gentle voices, pristine melodies and the expressive imperfections of indie rock for songs that probe vulnerability and trauma, self-sabotage and self-preservation.”  - NY Times

Evening Folks...

Nice to be back spinning regularly.

A mixed bag today...

John Coltrane  'Soultrane'  1958 Prestige Records.  MoFi SACD 2020    Flac.

345609937_JohnColtraneSoultrane1958PrestigeRecords.MoFiSACD2020Flac.-Copy.jpg.e464d7c9e8aecdf81401bd411f4d6ed9.jpg

Steely Dan  'Guacho'  1980 MCA Records.    Flac.

2023555834_SteelyDanGuacho1980MCARecords.-Copy.jpg.18fd6af5e34ffaa501359c448a735087.jpg

The Saboteurs  'Consolers of the Lonely'  2008 Third Man Records.    Flac.

1122229376_TheSaboteursConsolersoftheLonely2008ThirdManRecords.jpg.cf9de62c3539ca2a56065e8ea6835d08.jpg

...  and the surprise find for today, lurking about, deep down on one of the hard drives...

Neil Young and Pearl Jam  'Mirror Ball'  1995 Reprise Records.    Flac.

1067594285_NeilYoungandPearlJamMirrorBall1995RepriseRecords-Copy.jpg.618ffe72e0c42eb784a01f3d7215ad53.jpg

I don't know how this slipped under my radar for 25 years,

I always thought it was a mellow solo album, and I began listening without any knowlege about it.

Man!!!    I was blown away!

I thought, 'This is some seriously good Grunge.'  It would have slotted into the 90's alternative sound perfectly, and the production is warm and fat.

I had to do some research to find it was actually Pearl Jam, as I knew it wasn't Crazy Horse from the get go.

Do yourself a favour if you like the heavy side of Neil Young.
