Enjoying the remaster CD because of the convenience and quality of the songs, but the original vinyl is still the go-to.

For an excellent example of the reviewer's art, here's Allmusic's wrap of REM. All you need in 300 words. For all the jokes about drummers being dispensable, in truth Bill Berry was essential as REM's bullsh*t detector and filter.

First play.

Can/The Singles.

Coupla songs in...likin' so far.

Not sure what genre they are classed as. German band, maybe post punk or post rock?

Sounds very proggy to me.

But who cares as long as you like it, hey.

Nice survey of tracks that didn't quite worm their way into the persistent cultural consciousness past 1990 (maybe harsh) . Some trustworthy bands

The Mekons are one ofThe all time great rock n roll bands

Enormously unpopular though

Record Sales  would be counted in the thousands 😀

Try this one first as an easy way in but you will need to spend time listening because they aren’t for casual listening

A lot of humour and politics and since they became obsessed with country music they play some kind of bastardised country music

John Langford is well worth checking out with The Waco Brothers

Speaking of the Mekons

After a day spent drowning out the sound of lawn mowers next doors with sad songs some

Cracked country music

Perfect for drinking 🍺  to

Of which I have none

Sadly

But will have to rectify

And remember the good old days when I could drink more than 2
