Hmmm.  I may need to arrange my first listen to her.  I hear effusiveness in here and am feel unnervingly ignorant. 😬

Love her album Tidal. It's a classic.

Her new album. Can't get into it at all. Have tried to like it, but the more l listen to it, the more l hate it. Big disapointment for me.

Just bought Audioslaves new album. WOW, easily as good as their first album of 2003. Highly recommended if you like rock :)

l just bought Lemon Jelly's new CD yesterday and love it. Their single "The shouty song" first got my attention, the filmclip for it is also brilliant. Kind of dance music with heavy use of real drum and bass on a lot of the tracks, some songs are heavier than others but very catchy. While l am not really into dance music this is excellent.

Trivia time: Spain frontman Josh Haden is the son of the late, great bassist Charlie Haden.

I honestly can't imagine this collection of music coming out in any decade other than the 90s. It just would not have got any attention at any other time. Which would be a shame because it's still quite pleasant in its way.  Think Tindersticks with all the wrinkles smoothed out. It feels sober and clean like the first time you put on a brand new pair of socks.

Here’s a Fun secret

A piece of useless information

So to speak

Known only to rock n roll fanatics

Or music snobs😀

It would almost fit @metal beat ‘S thread

Rockpile made 4 records but only released 1 under the name Rockpile

2 were released as solo albums by Dave Edmunds Tracks On Wax and Repeat when necessary

One was released under Nick Lowe’s name as  Labor Of Lust

All 4 records are great

And 50 or so years on cool records to own

New Norah. I signed up for 3 months of Tidal for $4 just to have a play with it. Can’t see spending another $24 a month on it going forward on top of Spotify Premium family account, Netflix HD, Disney+, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera but it’s quite a thrill to be able to open it up, think of any album (up to a point) and just pull it up without compromise. Spotify Premium is great but there’s always that feeling that it’s not all it could be. I really like how Tidal integrates with the Lightning DS app, too. I won’t be keeping it but it’s gonna smart turning it off 😕

new Miss Swift. Produced by Aaron Dessner (the National) so I thought I’d check it out. It’s ok. My attention wandered a bit in the middle. Interestingly, it’s got Justin Vernon’s (Bon Iver) fingerprints all over it too with some very Bon Ivery-sounding tracks. He’s in for a duet and I think he was engineer on some of it. Good that she’s trying different things. Still not really my mug of english breakfast.

The Postal Service - Give Up

The Postal Service: Give Up Album Review | Pitchfork

Not often I purchase music recommended by The Economist.  Not often The Economist recommends music.  But they did note the virtue of Corelli's trio sonatas (in which they were astute in their observations).  And they have been running a "what to do when home is all there is" kinda series. - so music nearer their interest.
