Bohren & Der Club Of Gore ‎– Patchouli Blue - the perfect music to be playing at 1am on a Wed. dark, moody, jazzy, atmospheric and depressingly uplifting.

Spread your wings to the wind

EDIT: I adored this album when it came out and I freely admit that I overplayed it, to the point where today would be the first time I’ve spun it in more than five years. Turns out I’ve really been missing out. I’d forgotten what an extraordinarily beautiful album it is.

Hammock - Mysterium -- another in the series of lubberly ambient goodness from the Nashville duo. Mixing strings, guitars, and pads. Very noice. Streaming via Tidal.

Kali Malone - The Sacrificial Code

The Sacrificial Code | Kali Malone

I find this marvelously thought provoking, as minimal as it is. Each turn of the music feeling something like the performer's considered choice, with the sense of contemplation in these choices almost laid bare to inhabit with her.

Shine A Light

Cant remember The Stones ever calling on the good Lord before but I guess this is written by Mick about Keith

Ah, Villa Nelcote in Villefranche-sur-mer. Holy ground in France, along with Serge's house in Paris. Unfortunately, I missed them by 'a few' years

We were there last Christmas. Love the French Riviera in the winter. Watched "To Catch a Thief" last weekend and recognized many locations from this area.

I think so

And yes

Dozens of these photos from that time

Saw an interview with her years ago

Given the lifestyle she didn’t seem to have aged badly

Came across as a very nice person

She looked 50 years younger than Keith🙂

Looked better than Keith, but he has a way with avoiding natural consequences for which others don't seem to have the knack...

The Wolfgang Press ‎– Bird Wood Cage - original 1988 4AD UK release - pressed @ MPO, produced by Flood. all these years later still sounds amazingly fresh and inventive.

Exile? Slowdive? The Wolfgang Press? The quality of music being listened to by the people on this thread is remarkably high. I like how it's never a p*ssing competition, just "hey, this is what's happening here".

This is a band album with a fine frontlady singer. A pleasure to have a cover version of Talking Heads "Heaven" tucked in near the end of side 2. I don't think I've ever heard a bad version of that song.
