Led Zeppelin III .    the 2014 digital vinyl remaster deluxe with the companion lp of b sides and alternate versions.   I don't play the actual album as i have the Classic reissues which sound amazing  - However I really like the companion disc.  Nice to hear different versions of classic tracks  :thumb:

I am almost tempted to buy led zep IV and houses of the holy just for the companion disc?    Anyone got them?

Yes, I've got the "deluxe" reissues of IV and HOTH. As Cliff said, some of the tracks without vocals are worth having (I actually think that Plant's vocals ruin a lot of LZ tracks that would otherwise be brilliant). BTW, I don't agree with all the hype about these reissues, which, unlike some digitally mastered LPs, really do sound like digital remasters to my ears.

I agree

The Classic reissues from 2000 kick them into the next universe. But they are no longer available for the general punter without paying an arm and a leg.

I am more interested in the companion discs.

If CD, Epic or Because I was in Love.  on LP - Tramp or We Are Here as these pressings are at lease decent.

Don't you mean Are We There? My vinyl copy is OK.

Gaz Coombes - Here come the Bombs.   Euro vinyl.

His new album is so good, I went back on got his first solo album.   Its excellent as well.   After Supergrass split up i thought it would be the last of the boys - how wrong could I be.

Haven't heard this lass yet. What's a good album to start with her?

My vote goes to Are We There.  My copy is a really good pressing, but from what @@Citroen said, seems like it's a bit variable.

Currently listening to Elliott Smith - From A Basement On The Hill

A recent purchase for me and I'll be straight.  I love Elliott Smith, but this hasn't gelled with me on first listen.  Pressing is nice and quiet, but the music just hasn't grabbed me.  I'll give it a few more spins before casting judgement.

CrosbyStillsNashYoungDjVu510602_zpsalgyg

That is one of the first 2 records I ever played on my own stereo

The other was Music From Big Pink

Shortly after I bought Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere because of the song Helpless

Still a great record and David Crosby's vocal on Almost Cut My Hair is still one of my favourites

Check out his first record even the name is a classic

If I Could Only Remember My Own Name

Hey what do you expect from a dead guy. ;)

This is probably my second most favourite album of his, only surpassed by Either/Or. Yeah, its probably a more difficult listen than most of his others but I must admit that I really liked it from the beginning.

Have you seen the Heaven Adores You doco?

Vedder and Co say it's their worst album.

Ridiculous. It's their best album by a mile.

Talking Elliott Smith, this second album from him is probably my favourite, just ahead of Either/Or.

Vinyl.

Stones - Sticky Fingers -  original UK pressing.  took me a couple of times ( and arguments over refunds for incorrectly graded vinyl) but I eventually got an original pressing in reasonable condition - 40 pounds.  that was 5 years ago -   fcuk I hate buying used vinyl when idiots/crooks cannot grade vinyl correctly.

Sounds excellent thou but still the odd crackle on Wild Horses but overall worth it just to hear awesome guitar on "can't you hear me knocking"
