Pre footy (AFL....Go Swans!) nerve settler....FGTH - WTTPD Canadian 1st pressing.

Post footy 'forget the game' music? (and I must say my Swans were absolutely reamed by the umpires tonight like the '16 GF! No apologies to Crows and Dogs supporters.?)......Hopefully his will settle me down and lighten my mood......

Devo's "Oh No! It's Devo" Oz 1st pressing.?

Paul Kelly, James Ledger, Genevieve Lacey, Anam Musicians: Conversations With Ghosts;

The Triffids: Born Sandy Devotional;

Joe Jackson: Fool.

Above are three CDs that I've very much enjoyed over the last 24hours. The first one has some typically nice Paul Kelly songwriting and singing, with a fair bit of orchestral backgrounding.

The Triffids album is an old favourite from a great Aussie 80s band . The Joe Jackson album is a good one, for people who like his stuff. I particularly enjoy his earlier albums, up to and including Night and Day. This one is nice, too.

Surely that one'll help to put a smile on your dial there Steve. I'm not huge on AFL, but am a Swans supporter myself. ?

I've never listened to a Devo album,but from what i have heard of their old stuff ( via media)  it'd probably be a lot of fun.

I like bands that are clearly enjoying themselves.

Ahoy hoy.

Lucking out with Op Shop finds lately, and I haven't finished listening and posting all of them yet.

I had another nice little score today with around 60 free CD's, no covers or sleeves, but most in great nic, from Floyd, ZZ Top, Supertramp, Prince and many others, to some Hip Hop and Aussie Rock.

Polished and listened to these this arvo/tonight...

ACDC  'Highway to Hell'  1979 - 2003 J Albert & Son. Epic. Sony Music, Argentina.

Devo  'Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!'  1978 Warner Bros. Records Inc.  Warner Music, Aust.

I had no idea Brian Eno was involved with these guys, very cool.

Neil Young  'Harvest'  1972 Warner Bros. Records Inc. Warner Music, Aust.

10CC  'Best of the '70's'  EMI Records. Made in E.U.

I'm riding on the wave of Godley & Creme's 'Freeze Frame', which I really love.  I haven't given 10CC a listen 'til now, but will definitely be hunting their records after this compilation.  Looking forward to hearing them after a little 'erb.

I did think I was listening to The Beach Boys for a couple of tracks.

Gary Numan  'Scarred'  Live - 2003 Eagle Records. Made in Germany.

What a great lineup.
