Brilliant album Chris, I love nearly everything Johnette has done especially the early Concrete Blonde albums. Her recent albums have had very limited releases including this album. Do you have 'The naked album' from 2015? I don't have that one and haven't heard anything from it but have just found somebody has uploaded the individual songs on YT.

Cheers

Saturnalia greetings one and all.  Lot's to catch up on here, I've had a few days away from the internet, glue cleaning records;  I've done about 50 both sides over the last few days.  Have I written before how much improvement this makes on all my vinyl?  Both old and new.

I've played heaps of records, but will start with today...

Om  'Adviatic Songs'  2012 Drag City Inc. Chicago.  2 x 45rpm.  Bought and signed at a Brisbane gig.

Just a beautiful record, sounds great, looks great, refreshes the gig in my mind every time.

Kyuss  ‘Muchas Gracias’  The Best Of...  2000 Elektra, WEA, Made in Germany.  2 x 33.3rpm.

My only Kyuss vinyl, sounds petty good, has a few live tracks, and a couple of tracks not on any of the albums.

1. "Un Sandpiper" (from the "Gardenia" single, 1995) Josh Homme, Scott Reeder, John Garcia, Alfredo Hernández 8:16
2. "Shine" (from a split single with Wool, 1996) Reeder 5:55
3. "50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up)" (from Blues for the Red Sun, 1992) Brant Bjork 5:45
4. "Mudfly" (from the "One Inch Man" single, 1995) Homme 2:26
5. "Demon Cleaner" (from Welcome to Sky Valley, 1994) Homme 5:20
6. "A Day Early and a Dollar Extra" (from the "One Inch Man" single, 1995) Homme 2:17
7. "I'm Not" (from Wretch, 1991) Homme, Garcia 4:30
8. "Hurricane" (from ...And the Circus Leaves Town, 1995) Homme, Garcia 2:42
9. "Flip the Phase" (from the "One Inch Man" single, 1995) Homme 2:16
10. "Fatso Forgotso" (from the "Into the Void" single, 1996) Reeder 8:34
11. "El Rodeo" (from ...And the Circus Leaves Town, 1995) Homme 5:36
12. "Gardenia" (live; from Live at the Marquee Club and the "Demon Cleaner" single, 1994) Bjork 6:46
13. "Thumb" (live; from Live at the Marquee Club and the "Demon Cleaner" single, 1994) Homme, Bjork 4:38
14. "Conan Troutman" (live; from Live at the Marquee Club and the "Demon Cleaner" single, 1994) Homme 2:18
15. "Freedom Run" (live; from Live at the Marquee Club and the "Demon Cleaner" single, 1994) Homme, Bjork 7:54

Tracks 12–15 recorded May 24, 1994 at the Marquee Club in Hamburg, Germany

The Mars Volta  'Deloused in the Comatorium'  2003 Erika Records.  2 x 33.3rpm Silver Discs, no labels.

A nicely packaged record, except no plastic sleeves.  Music sounds excellent, vinyl sounds a little noisy, but only noticeable at the starts really.  Very interesting music, with some acquired elements like the vocals.

Cream  'Wheels of Fire'  1968 Polydor, Aust.

Picked up 2nd hand a while back, a little worse for wear but much improved after a facial peel.

Susumu Yokota - Acid Mt. Fuji 2xLP

So excited finally received this iconic album. Re-released in June and first time on vinyl.

Probably my favourite album of Susumu Yokota’s - a perfect blend of minimalist ambience and deep techno.

The sound quality is phenomenal, get it while you can but it is already quite hard to get.

This is superb.

Highly recommended vinyl release. :)

A return trip to Sydney with my 20 yr old son listenning to the very intense Mark Koselek’s Sun Kil Moon ( thats the band, him and sonetimes someone else) its pretty full, lyricly and enotionaly. Not for everyone, it takes the slow/noise/folk thing beyond beyond. In fact its more classical, using a classical guitar.

Also heard, finaly, John Cale’s Paris 1919,or whatever year it was. Interesting.
