ThirdDrawerDown
Usually my partner is able to respect whatever I put on the turntable. Tonight, first night in a long time, I got asked to remove an item from the platter. I guess the Residents must be residents of Kirribilli? sorry. Dad joke.

unclekanus
One more from fellow audio enthusiast and all round great guy, Hank Rollins. Last I saw he had a seriously top notch system with an incredible music library. Caught him way back doing a spoken word show in St Kilda. Very funny and passionate individual.

Some more synchronicity... Played this CD today... it was sent to me by another member after reading mine had been damaged and no longer playable. Yet another tribute to this forum, the friendliness, support and enthusiasm of all members here. Rollins Band 'The End of Silence' 1992 Imago Records. I had forgotten just how good this band sound. I saw him with The Hardons at The Big Day Out, either the first or second one in Sydney. Certainly a straight forward and intense dude. I haven't really followed him though, never seen his TV series' or been to a spoken word. This Album is full of anger and rage, great music, but I do get over the emotion by the end, wouldn't hurt to balance out with some humour. I guess it's therapy for him in a way, and I wonder how he's doing these days? Evening All... Followed Rollins the only way I know how... The Mark of Cain 'Ill At Ease' 1995 Ra Records. Warner, Aust. The Mark of Cain ' Battlesick' 1989 Dominator Records. ...and finished up as I usually do after The Mark of Cain... Helmet 'Meantime' 1992 Interscope Records. Atlantic Records, USA. Made in Germany. Love this Album. I was going to post on the Metal thread until I saw The End of Silence above. Not really Metal though, I do keep these in my Alternative section. Cheers, Ant. He seems like one of those guys that's just always in the zone. If you want some humour then check out Hot Animal Machine and some older stuff. Maybe I'm warped but I find it v.amusing. Nothing wrong with a couple of heavy suggestions here either. I've got some Mark of Cain cued up for later and I do love Helmet But for now, I'm currently spinning this beautifully pressed piece of vinyl. unclekanus
Sorry if that last one was a bit offensive but I've since cleaned up my act. Spinning some Van... the opening track and the way they captured that bass sounds so stunning that it just makes you want to stick the album out. This one has a little bit of everything I love about Van on it. Van Morrison - Common One

stevoz
Started the late evenings vinyl listening with Sky's first album (Oz 1st pressing, side two unfortunately lightly 'hazed')...... .....and followed that with some Morse genius in two 'incarnations'. 'The Introduction' (Canadian 1st pressing) is a superb recording and pressing as is this one, playing currently (US 1st pressing).
