Reason for selling:

Unique Ellis Audio 1801b speakers, which are a two way bass reflex design using a 6.5" Seas Excel Woofer and a Hiquphon OW1 Tweeter, mounted on amazing twisted stands in Tasmanian Blackwood veneer. The cabinets and stands were built for me by Montague Furniture. The cabinets themselves are 480 h x 400 d x 270 w, with the total height on the stands being 1770 (spikes are on the bottom of the stands). I don't know how easy it would be to remove the speaker cabinets from the stands as I'm unsure how they are attached.

These are in good condition, and sound amazing. I won't try to describe the sound but the following link will give you an idea:

More detail on the speakers can be found here: https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/4512554/1801-cabinet-plans-ellis-audio/7  and here: https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=u46ecdsi9rn45u9ft9clnqe8k2&board=28.0   or google Dave Ellis 1801b.

Sad to be selling but they no longer fit changes to my house.

Sorry but these are too big to ship, so pickup only from Willoughby NSW.

I've seen these in real life and they look absolutely magnificent!

Didn't get a chance to listen so I can't comment regarding sound signature - but based on the gear I did listen to if the claim is that they sound amazing then this is very likely to be true!

Hi Guys,

The design of these speakers was a collaboration between Dave Ellis and Dennis Murphy.  Dave used to sell a finished version of the speaker to customers all over the world with long wait times.  He also offered the speaker as a diy kit for keen people with great wood working skills.  I always wanted a pair but I'm not much of a woodworker...

Dennis Murphy has a great reputation in the USA and used to sell premium value speakers via Philharmonic Audio. The Ellis 1801 can be bought new from Salk Sound for about $2300usd.  This speaker would cost almost about 6k aud to import to Australia.

Good luck with the sale.

Cheers Rod
