Gee Emm
I am looking at using a separate pre-amp with two outputs. One to the WISA black box. One to another power amp running another pair of speakers.

I'm looking at these instead of a KEF ls50/bluesound system, but wondered if this system easily integrates into multi room sound? I have a large room and whenever we have guests/parties I like to have both systems operating, which is currently by chromecast set up as a room, so we can match volume and delays as well. Can these Burchardts play with others nicely in this regard? Stumbled across this question so thought I'd jump in with my experiences to date. I've had the A500s for about 4 months now (they are amazing and happy to answer any questions if you have any) but I have been playing with integrating them with my outdoor system so it's all in sync for a full house mode. I started with a hope that Airplay 2 would suffice for a party mode, but the sync was way out and Apple doesn't offer signal delay to get it synced up. I dropped the airplay source and bought a chrome-cast audio a the source for the outdoor speakers and set that up with the A500s as a group and that works perfectly. I had a bit of play with delay in the google home app but really didn't even need to. It's simple, available directly from Spotify or Tidal, works with voice control etc. Only thing to note is that I exclusively stream music, and this setup does that really well but I can't play an external source like CD player around the house like you could with Bluesound. That said you could always used a Bluesound as the source with these speakers rather than using the streamer in the hub and get all that extra functionality.

I grew up with old school technics in the home, I've played with out of the box 5.1 stuff (which sucked) and most recently binned a sound-bar before I tried to do my music experience justice with something 'proper'. I spent a good year auditioning, KEF LS50, KEF R3, Klipsch Reference, Dynaudio, D-tech, Martin Logan but those were always in a controlled environment (not in the home). As such I don't have the best basis of comparison for the in home sound, but in all my auditions could feel something was missing compared to what I had in my head as to what I was looking for (e.g. LS50 for all it's accuracy just felt like it lacked body, Dynaudio were effortless and integrated but sounded unremarkable etc). All I can say is that I haven't felt anything is missing from the A500s at all and I still can't wait to get home and turn them on each day.

Benje
I was looking at the A700. They are not as big a floorstander as you might think. About 28 kg each, 1000 mm high (1035 mm with the feet), 180 mm wide and 280 mm deep). they have 6” drivers, and are only 7” wide. They seem to be small form floorstanders with bigger sound. I might be interested in 18 months time - a new project looms. Really clean, simple lines, few components needed, and few wires needed. Yay!
TFJ100
I ordered the A500s last month. I would like the A700s, but in order to save $4k, I'll start with the A500s and if they satisfy, then I'll stick with them and sell some of my existing components. If not, I could either send them back or upgrade to the A700s. I current run some floorstanders with 2 sub-woofers, so it will be interesting to see how this works with the A500s. If you pair in the sub-woofers, you lose the room correction (which is managed by the WISA box). If I use the WISA box, then I can't run subwoofers unless WISA enabled (I have a Sonos sub in my other system which I believe would work and I might be able to re-purpose if required). The pair in Mads' house is white as well, he told me. His wife's choice apparently, he would rather have had walnut!
Gee Emm
Hmmm, just had a thought. What if our speakers DON'T arrive!? Financial risk? 100% Mine! Opportunity to reverse risk? Zero! Has anyone on SNA who has ordered them, actually had any feedback from Buchardt regarding delivery date?

You are buying out of Denmark, not <insert 3rd world country of your choice>. What credit card did you use? If they don't supply, you should be able to make a claim on your card.

Yeah it's not likely anyone could hack into your order and have it redirected to evil springs for instance! Sure all will be well in the end, Graham! Really looking forward to hearing your impressions of them.

k3here
I've been in touch with Buchardt and they are saying the Feb batch is being delayed due to shipping freight delays. I will get a new despatch date on Monday (I ordered mine in Nov) Also those who ordered after December may to get them until May or August such has been the huge demand!! Anyone heard anything similar?
TFJ100
Yes, I think we are all in the same batch. Based on what Made said, I'm guessing mid-March

Gee Emm
Received an email today from Buchardt audio In a nutshell; they're very busy, the A500's are 6-8 weeks overdue (you can pull out if that's a problem), you can get a cashback on the new Buchardt hub/preamp when it is released sometime in the future. I've waited this long... I can wait a bit longer. Quote "First of all, thank you all so much for the support, the A500 have become an insanely popular product, and by far already the best selling product we have made to date. We did not expect an explosion like this in sales, and we were caught completely off guard, and ran out of stock nearly instantly. All A500s that are on the way to us now are sold out in pre order. Nearly all (all walnut) are also sold out in preorders for the next batch to be delivered in May. We do except to be able to keep up with the demand and finally have stock when we reach August. To all that have ordered in 2020 and expected the delivery in the beginning of February, we sadly have some bad news. We all know the situation the world has been in regarding Covid, which heavily affects the shipping industry worldwide. Maybe you have already felt this by so many products being sold out, especially electronics. The A500s were scheduled to go from our factory in China to us in Denmark and our warehouse in Atlanta late December. Even with confirmed bookings by sea carriers, the shipment has been "rolled" and we have not been able to get much concrete information until now (hence the late email here). The A500s are finally now on the way which is a huge relief! The estimated delivery to our warehouse in Denmark is now 18th of March which means we will ship all orders between 18-19th of March As for the US/Canada customers : The delay is not as bad, and we expect these to ship out late February. Should these delays be unacceptable, then you are of course in your full rigth to cancel the order, no hard feelings here. If your patiences can stretch a bit more, then I would personally guarantee that you would be in for a true joy with the A500. We have so many cool future plans for our A series. What you see now in terms of mastertunings, app features and even possible hardware upgrades, is just the tip of the iceberg. In 2021 we would release our own hub/preamp. This would be a premium option to replace the Platin hub. It's not necessary to do, but should you want to, then we would be offering a full cashback on the Platin hub they are bundled with today. Should you want the latest news on stuff like this, then be sure to subscribe to our newsletter where we promise not to spam mails out Thank you all yet again, and welcome to the Buchardt Family! " End Quote
