Wanted 6-8 Channel power amp ( not integrated amp)

Recommended Posts

I am looking to a power amp ( no controls requiring preamp to use) for  3 pairs of  Definitive Technology ceiling speakers for effect (4) and rear center (2)

(Main R/L/C are Meridian  M60, and pair of M33)

I have a NAD m25 Master series 7 channel power amp that I’ll be moving on soon. It needs a little love (some of the LEDs on the front turn off after a while of operation) but  otherwise faultless from a sound perspective.

it’s in Victoria and weighs the better part of 60kg so might not be what you want to deal with from a shipping perspective.

Interested depending on price, in Vic as well.

My M25 has the same issue. Sometimes one or two are out other times the whole lot are working. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to it either. Do you know if it is simply needing replacements?

And in the interests of not hijacking the thread, I too am toying with the idea of moving the power amp on... too many channels!

I am in northern NSW.

I have yet to open mine up for a look but I don't imagine it a difficult fix. The architecture of the amp has the control board separate to the amplification stages, so it would be just a matter of pulling that module and taking a peek.  The fact that others are experiencing the same issue tells me it should be common and a fix shouldn't be unknown.  I have an electronics specialist mate I was going to give mine to for a look but Stage 4 lockdown in Vic has put a stop to that possibility.
