Brisbane record store

Recommended Posts

Just cruising down Latrobe Tce in Paddington, Brisbane this morning and noticed a new record store where Mary Ryans/ Orange cafe used to be.

Had a look inside and quite a few to choose from, including a bit of MoFi.

Bought  one record but will be going back for another look soon.

Yep, Dutch Vinyl just opened in Brisbane. Their first shop is in Melbourne. Check out their current sound system!

That's a Line Magnetic LM805iA

Mark took some speaker cable from me for the stereo in the brisbane store.

Not sure if its at the same level of "freaking sweet" as the melbourne store system but I think i'll have to check it out next time i'm up that way.

I’ll have to check it out. How were the prices on your standard stuff?

Cheers for the heads up fellas 👍

It’s always good to find quality record stores and from a brief look, this one has a big selection, which I don’t see often from local shops, or perhaps I’m just not aware of them. Anyway Dutch looks good and has some reasonable prices.

Yeah, I've been following them online over the last few months, leading up tot hte store opening. Will visit at some stage, but it's the complete other side of town for me.

Sonic Sherpa at Stones corner is my regular shop. The owners previously had Skinny's in the city, which was a great shop, with heaps of In-store gigs in the 90's

Saw one of those nice big Line Magnetic tube amps hooked up to a turntable playing in the store today in Brisbane.

I must say that the used section was a tad disappointing for me, I dug through every box and wasn’t surprised by much.

The wax and sleeves were very good quality but not many rarities. If you were starting out in vinyl I would highly recommend because all the classics are there.

I miss record fairs, that’s where the thrill of the chase really happens.

No need to miss Record Fairs @Yarrum78 they started again in June at Aspely and the third one will be on August  8th.
