hlov
Hi all, I found the sound on my Yamaha too bright these days, will a recap improve this? And also will the use of banana plugs make any difference. My gear is Technics SL-7 with and EPS-310MC cartridge, speakers are KEF Q350 Cheers H
mbz
The CA-810 is well regarded. Consider a recap when the amp sounds flat with a vague sound stage. I wouldn't consider any of that series to be bright, perhaps you have "an issue" maybe oscillation. Worthwhile having someone give it the once over with an oscilloscope also check/set the bias. Thanks for the advise, I have to put the treble in 0 in the lowest position

Al.M
With 40 year old amps the very many circuit capacitors start to dry up, loose value and or fail eventually. A good local tech should help. Compare the sound with another amp and see if there is any difference. Edited July 5, 2020 by Al.M
