New microscope OMG!!

Recommended Posts

Been naughty saw an Meiji Microscope on the bay, an EMT2 with extras for about a 1/4 of what they cost new I just could not resist. I have like 20cm to work underneath for retipping and the image is scary good not sure how I did it without it, it feels like cheating :)

I can appreciate that having more room to work is a good thing when retipping.  Nice purchase.

Nice acquisition Chris, I'm sure it will make the job much easier.

But you do know that the stereo vision won't work for a mono re-tip 😄

Humour aside, I hope you are able to achieve some great work with it.

Here are some. First is low power image of me assessing a cart I bought. Seller said it was undamaged and pic was for sure a different cart. Bottom missing off this and not in pic.

Second pic is cantilever and suspension off an EPC205cmk3, I am fixing suspension problem

Sadly sometimes sellers see things through rose tinted glasses.

Not only that, but some of them can speak through other orifices.

Since relooked at the original listing pics seller is a con artist, the pic shows a cart with the bottom plate intact and a boron cantilever (clearly a nice retip). One he sent is aluminium cantilever with base of cart missing totally different cart than the one in the listing. Applied for refund, seller is resisiting but sent pics ebay will step in I am sure.

Looks like the microscope does a good job.  They can pay for themselves...or least save you money in situations like that.
