CameronPR
I'm looking for some advice on best practice for integrating multiple sources into a stereo D-Class power amp with single RCA inputs. I'm currently running a turntable/Chromecast to an integrated amp. If I go down the D-class Poweramp route then should I: A Get a DAC + Phono pre feeding a switch. B Get an all in one DAC with Phono (any recommendations) C Get a DAC and a phono pre which has multiple inputs (fed by the DAC) Very much appreciating people's views on this! Ittaku
Budget will determine best options. Dedicated equipment almost always does a better job than integrated components. Most affordable option that I'd recommend would be to get a passive pre, like the stereo coffee one, and a parks audio puffin for the phono pre. Get the puffin with digital out for connecting to a DAC when you have one. Then you can add a DAC whenever. https://stereocoffee.wixsite.com/ldrpreamp http://parksaudiollc.com/ Edited June 23, 2020 by Ittaku

I was ideally looking at something I could leave fully connected, with both a DAC/Phono input, I'm not sure I can achieve that with your recommendation. The emotiva PT-100 seems to achieve this after looking around, I'll see if I can find some more "attractive" alternatives.

Irek
It's actually quite complicated question. Many preamps are not design to work with class D power amps and may add some noise or unwanted distortion. There is Bel Canto and Primare. I think integrated class D might be a safer option. 2Brix
@CameronPR i noticed Peachtree also do a poweramp which you could add later i.e. you have a clear upgrade path/option https://www.peachtreeaudio.com/collections/amplifiers/products/amp500 Very impressive specs including.. 2 x 500W into 8 Ohm, stable down to 2.5 Ohm damping factor >600 I have no vested interest in and i've not even auditioned/used Peachtree but i'd certainly have a look next time i need to changeout my living room system (where i currently use a Cambridge One minisystem and previously DENON). p.s. get in and audition a few contenders when you can...and trust your own ears. many different amp topologies can sound / are good..don;t be swayed by the biases of strangers on forums (me included ).
