Hi guys, my brother's in laws Sony tv has developed a line running across the screen. Any ideas what this could be and if it's worth fixing? Tv is well out of warranty. Line is not seen when tv is off.

Thanks.

Definitely buy a new one if that bothers you considering it’s out of warranty

You guys have been most helpful lol. I think my brother -in-law is going to give this tv to his sons to play console games on and just replace with new one.

I had a Sony that did exactly that.    I squeezed the edge of the tv where the line emanate ( both sides ) quite firmly together and it went away.  Never came back   🤷🏼‍♂️
