mistamuzo
Hi all, I've been offered a deal of $120 or less for two used Kef Coda 7 bookshelf speakers. Are they any good, and are they worth the price? Thanks in advance, Ryan
Al.M
In the 90s Kef had these as their budget end around maybe $600 and were not bad and the price is OK. They are lightly built cabinets with plastic moulds and wood. Edit: Audioreview.com gives 4/5 score from 35 reviewers so good http://www.audioreview.com/product/speakers/floorstanding-speakers/kef/coda-7.html Edited June 14, 2020 by Al.M
mistamuzo
Thanks for that. Do you think they would work well for near-field listening on a desk? I know they're passive, but I will soon have an amp to use with them and I have enough room on my desk for it. Due to the tweeters being on the bottom could they be placed upside down? Or would it be better to mount them on a stand?
Al.M
You can try it out on a desk. They are not designed for it and upside down may have scratches on the bottom if you mind.
