AUD $1,270,000 apparently. Group buy?

Currency Converter says:   1,092,588.16 Australian Dollars I may just wait for Ausy $ to rise a little more before pulling the trigger, I do like a bargain.

Cool 👍🏻
so you need what, six stereo amps (one for each driver)? Impressive

A pair of M9 loudspeakers requires two stereo or four monaural amplifiers.

Hmmm

By the time you get your amplification, source/s, furniture, cabling and power supplies sorted you could probably double that.

Not to mention the new house to accommodate it all (can't skimp on the details...)

Apparently there are currently over 2,100 billionaires worldwide (USD), so perhaps Magico might figure on some direct marketing approaches...

So this replaces the Ultimate as flagship speaker I guess.

I would like to own speakers that are taller than me. This one's close.

What recession?

Quite incredible.

The 1%'ers are usually recession proofed and I'm sure Mr Wolf knows that too.

I looked at the pic and my first thought was 'what a load of old bollards'.

But no, these are pretty awesome.

Its so expensive because of the "10 inch diamond coated Beryllium tweeter"  : )

The Tweeter is 1.10 inch.  Not 10 inches

Good to see they put them in a room that's fitting for great speakers. There's a Wilson thread here somewhere where they just plonked them in a large untreated room. That's a waste of a million bucks if ever there was.

Yeah, just need to get hold off that couple from Dromana that won the $80M Powerball draw and point them to this ad.

This is the Magico factory listening room.   One would hope it is decent.

The Wilson speakers in a large untreated room would not have been the factory or David Wilson's house where many photographs have been taken.

$1.5 million and you get 2 diamond coated tweeters worth $2k? :)

I've priced diamond tweeters, this is not quite right, but obviously you're not just paying for tweeters...

They go to the trouble of producing an electronic crossover with seperate power supply and then use it just for the transition between the 11" and 15" woofers.

Seems like a golden opportunity missed to fully optimise all the driver transitions.

Presumably they still believe a high quality passive crossover is better where possible. Given the frequencies where two woofers are going to crossover are, the size of inductors and capacitors required to create a passive crossover would be so massive it would be impossible to use high quality components in a passive crossover. I ran into this just crossing over 12dB at 230Hz between woofer and midrange and theirs would be significantly lower... And what do you know I looked it up on the website and that's the exact reason and from the description the crossover is at 120Hz, and even more insane values since they use a 24dB crossover.
