There's a Wilson thread here somewhere where they just plonked them in a large untreated room. That's a waste of a million bucks if ever there was.

One would hope it is decent. The Wilson speakers in a large untreated room would not have been the factory or David Wilson's house where many photographs have been taken. I've priced diamond tweeters, this is not quite right, but obviously you're not just paying for tweeters...
Tobes
They go to the trouble of producing an electronic crossover with seperate power supply and then use it just for the transition between the 11" and 15" woofers. Seems like a golden opportunity missed to fully optimise all the driver transitions.

Seems like a golden opportunity missed to fully optimise all the driver transitions. Presumably they still believe a high quality passive crossover is better where possible. Given the frequencies where two woofers are going to crossover are, the size of inductors and capacitors required to create a passive crossover would be so massive it would be impossible to use high quality components in a passive crossover. I ran into this just crossing over 12dB at 230Hz between woofer and midrange and theirs would be significantly lower... And what do you know I looked it up on the website and that's the exact reason and from the description the crossover is at 120Hz, and even more insane values since they use a 24dB crossover.
