Another option - costing a few dollars used by some to count stylus hours is this mechanical clicker - no worries about batteries dying. Click for each LP side played. Hours can be calculated by multiplying the clicks by 25 (or what you think your average LP side playing time is) for total minutes, then dividing by 60 for total hours. Approximate, but close enough. Andy It's from a mechanical knitting machine, not a sewing machine. I've got no idea how they work, just found this spare part at an opshop.
