Further information:

Selling MSB Platinum Link DAC in very good condition. Bought in 1999 (about $4,000 then), this unit has been packed in storage the last 10 years. I have literally unboxed it today, tested with Audiophilleo 2 USB converter (output from NUC music server running JRiver MC) and can confirm that it still works exceptionally well.

It is in very good cosmetic condition.

Features include:

·         Traditional MSB multi-bit technology, internally running at 46 / 384K resolution.

·         4 sign magnitude 46-bit ladder DACs

·         Inputs: coaxial, toslink, balanced AES / EBU, MSB Network 192k

·         Outputs: line level 4V RMS 12vPP, balanced level 7.5 V RMS (20Vpp)

·         Sampling frequency: 1.5mHz

·         Digital filter: Burr Brown DF1704

·         Dynamic range: 134 dBA measured

·         Noise floor: <- 145 dB

·         Upsampling to 24-bit, 130 kHz from lower sources

·         16x interpolation

This is a unique opportunity to acquire one of the best DACs on planet at the time, which still looks and sound wonderful. It is built like a tank, with an excellent power supply. They don’t make them like this anymore, nor do they come up for sale often.

It does not have a USB input, but can be paired with a converter, such as the Audiophilleo 2 shown in the photos to become a centerpiece of a high quality digital front end.

Can sell as package, the combined price for the DAC and Audiophilleo 2 is $900.

Pickup is preferred, since the unit is very heavy. I can post at buyer’s expense.
