No sound rear speakers

Hello there I have a problem of not getting
any sound through the rear ceiling
speakers. (front are fine)
I have run the Audyssey setup and i get
sounds ok left rear & right.
Have checked that the volume levels are
up.
Hope someone can help me please

its a 5 channel avr.. why have you got ceiling rears?

 

rears are used in 7.1.. are you sure you dont mean side surrounds which dont go in the ceiling.

 

your fronts are in the ceiling?

What are you watching - a lot of FTA is only 2 channel. Have you tried a disc with 5.1 material?

Yes I have, played music videos, also Foxtel music videos etc also Movies.

They were in before i bought this receiver, they worked fine with a previous Yamaha and Onkyo.

Front speakers are floor standing.

Make sure you haven't selected pure audio or stereo in the Marantz's options.

 

Were the movies on Poxtel or disc? Don't count on getting multichannel on Poxtel - they're always looking for ways to reduce bandwidth.

Make sure you have them defined correctly in your AVR to match the speaker terminals you connected them to.

EG. Rear, not Surround, or vice versa.

Have solved the problem I watches a video on youtube, I was not running Audyssey  correctly. All ok now thanks to all the suggestions and your time.
