Al.M
Very interesting. The new $20k Yamaha NS5000 is doing similar by using a rear sound wave resonance tube on both their tweeter, midrange domes plus the woofer that are made of zylon, which has superior physical properties to what they were using in the classic NS1000 model with beryllium tweeter and midrange domes, see below pics. To my ears the NS5000 sounds stunning and way better than many top line $35k B&W speakers.

Unlike cars, jewelry, designer furniture/clothing etc... $50 worth of parts MAY be a bit of a stretch, but 250 million GBP worth of R&D doesn't come cheap, I guess. I prepared a room a couple of weeks ago for a set of Kyron Kronos and matching subs. $120,000 AUD retail. Curiosity got the better of me and I did a bit of looking around. Just under $10k worth of drivers in them. $110,000 for paint and materials? Edited June 28, 2020 by Hilltop Rob

I got my windows cleaned a while ago; $300.- and I had to supply my own water! Rip off! Or...maybe it's all relative...

Save your money, go buy the 10k worth of speakers and build them your self.

Grab the 50 bucks worth of parts and build them your self, then sell them for what ever you want. You'll make a killing.
