Connecting a subwoofer for stereo system

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

At the moment, I have a Klein DAC III feeding a Primaluna Prologue Premium preamp feeding a Musical Fidelity A5CR power amp into Audio Physic Classic 30s. I have a definite technology Supercube 3 subwoofer and want to attach it to the system.

What is the best way to do this? The preamp does not have a pre-out. Do I have to run speaker cables in parallel from the preamp, or is there a neater solution?

Cheers,

You’ll need to use the high level connection on your subwoofer to the speaker terminals on your power amp. Your subwoofer manual will show you how to do this. I had to do this with my Linear tube pre-amp (no pre out).

Use a Y splitter between your preamp on the left and right channels going to the corresponding left right inputs on your sub and power amp. I know we don't like Chinese stuff at the moment but there are some brilliant solid ones with low impedance on eBay.  You could try some decent alternatives if you like .
