Thanks to @AudioGeek for the smooth transaction, I’m now in the Elektra club. And much sooner than I had planned! 
 

This thing weighs a ton.

And under the hood 😱❤️
That toroidal xfmr is uuuuuggggggeeee. 
 

I do have one question. What does the silver toggle on the back do?

Congrats from another Elektra owner.

 

The toggle should turn on/off the 12V trigger..

It seemed I had to put it in the down position to get the blue light to turn on. 
I’m assuming in the up position it needs the trigger to turn on?

Yes, up should enable the 12V trigger.

not mine either :D mine was from early 2000's :D 

 

for anyone wondering the newer ones dont look too different... the inner goodness continues :) 

 

this is the a mk1 HD thats 10 years newer in model line ~ circa 2014

I never took a shot of internals of a HD2 newer version... one i have was too rushed to get in the rack and up and going... :D
