Marantz SR7010 overview:

The Marantz SR7010 9.2-Channel Network A/V Receiver offers powerful multi-channel sound, Dolby and DTS height channel support, 4K video upscaling, and a wide variety of wireless and wired connectivity options. This receiver houses a discrete 9-channel amplifier design that can deliver 125W per channel at 8 ohms. The Audyssey Platinum calibration suite is on-board to help you tailor the sound of the receiver and connected speakers to your listening environment; a setup microphone is included. Built-in Dolby Atmos support gives you the ability to add front height channels for an immersive audio experience. In addition to built-in AM and FM tuners, the SR7010 allows you to enjoy enhanced over-the-air content thanks to its integrated HD radio support.

Not only can you connect traditional audio sources like CD players, but the Marantz SR7010 can connect to wireless audio sources via integrated Bluetooth, AirPlay, and Wi-Fi connectivity. An Ethernet port is also available for wired high-speed connections. Additionally, Internet connectivity allows you to access Internet streaming services, such as Pandora and Spotify. With on-board DLNA support, you can wirelessly stream media from similarly equipped devices such as PCs and network-attached storage devices.

The Marantz SR7010 is well-equipped for video sources as well as audio. This receiver features eight HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs, which also enables HDMI connectivity in a second zone. Furthermore, the built-in video processor can upscale video sources to conform to 4K displays and can also convert analog to video to digital. For control flexibility, you can use the included remote control, or operate the SR7010 from your Android or iOS smart device with the free Marantz Remote App.

Dolby Atmos Built-In and DTS:X-Ready

Dolby's Atmos surround sound technology dispenses with channel-based coding in favor of more advanced object-based coding, giving the sound designer the ability to precisely place sounds anywhere in the 3-dimensional space. The SR7010 features the ability to connect a 5.1-channnel surround sound speaker system and 2 additional overhead speakers or 2 additional Dolby Atmos elevation speakers. Thanks to the 9-channel processing capability, you can just add an external 2-channel amplifier and even enjoy a 5.1.4 or 7.1.2 channel Atmos experience. Along with Dolby Atmos decoding and Dolby Surround Upmixing, the SR7010 also features Dolby TrueHD lossless decoding and other Dolby Digital technologies.

Like Dolby Atmos, DTS:X features object-based audio coding that lets the sound designer place sonic elements anywhere in the 3D acoustic soundspace, and provides for overhead speakers to deliver an enhanced surround sound experience. The SR7010 also features DTS-HD Master Audio and other DTS technologies. DTS:X and DTS Neural:X Upmixer will be enabled via future firmware update, please see the manufacturer's website for details.

Marantz HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) Technology

Also found on the company's Reference Series components, Marantz HDAM (Hyper Dynamic Amplifier Module) technology is designed to provide low-noise, wide-band performance in an all-discrete configuration, compared to conventional op-amp ICs. HDAM technology provides a fast slew rate for true wide-band response and maximum dynamic range to deliver optimum sound quality.

Built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, AirPlay, and DLNA

Featuring Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless streaming connectivity, the SR7010 is equipped with an advanced dual diversity antenna transceiver system for robust and error-free streaming, even in congested RF environments. Connect to the Internet through your home Wi-Fi network (or with a hard-wired connection via the RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port) and enjoy your favorite tracks from free and subscription-based streaming music services such as Pandora, Sirius XM, Spotify Connect, and vTuner Internet radio.

With AirPlay, you can enjoy listing to your favorite tracks wirelessly from your iOS device, including the iPod touch, iPhone and iPad, and the SR7010 is also DLNA 1.5 certified for compatibility with your home PC or Mac.

Marantz AVR Remote App

The Marantz AVR Remote App lets you control the SR7010 with your portable smart devices and it's available for both iOS and Android platforms.

HDMI 2.0a Connectivity, HDCP 2.2 Compatible, and ISF Certified

The SR7010 features an advanced video section that's fully compatible with HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 specifications on all 8 HDMI inputs. With 4K Ultra HD 60 Hz video, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through support on every input, the SR7010 is ready for next generation Blu-ray disc players, set-top boxes, and other 4K Ultra HD sources. Certified by the Imaging Science Foundation, the SR7010 features a full suite of video calibration controls (for use by an ISF technician), along with ISF Day and ISF Night video modes.

The video processor also has the ability to transcode and upconvert standard definition and high definition analog and digital video content to 4K Ultra HD, optimizing the image quality of legacy video sources. The SR7010 features 8 HDMI inputs, including 1 conveniently located on the front panel, and 3 HDMI outputs, 2 for the main zone, and 1 for the 2nd zone.

Powerful 9-Channel Discrete Amplifier with Eco Mode

The SR7010 features a sophisticated power amplifier section with all 9 high-current amp channels configured identically. Each channel is rated at 125W at 8 ohms, and all channels are rated to drive lower impedance 4 ohm speakers. The advanced Eco amplifier mode adjusts power consumption according to signal level, and there's an on-screen Eco Mode display that lets you see the power consumption reduction in real time.

Smart TV Connectivity

Via the HDMI CEC (consumer electronics control) functionality in your smart TV, you may be able to control your Marantz AVR with the smart TV's remote control. With "HDMI control" set to On in your receiver, you can set "Smart Menu" to On to start controlling your Marantz AVR with your smart TV's remote. The Smart Menu home screen provides you quick access to source and surround mode selections, the AVR's setup menu, and 4 Smart Selects.

Audyssey Platinum Suite

Equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of advanced DSP algorithms, the SR7010 features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. With the supplied measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes each speaker's output (including the subwoofers) at up to 8 measurement locations and generates precision digital filters that optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response. The SR7010 is also Audyssey Pro Installer ready.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smoothes out jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels and still enjoy clear dialog, music, and sound effects. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides precision tonal tailoring for full range clarity at any listening level. Audyssey Low Frequency Containment uses advanced psychoacoustic algorithms to deliver a full range tonal balance, including deep bass, but without disturbing close-by neighbors or family members in other rooms, and features a multi-step adjustment that lets you dial in the amount of containment to your preference. Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup, for deeper bass with improved definition, compared to a single subwoofer configuration. Audyssey Dynamic Surround Expansion broadens the surround soundstage by utilizing front height and/or front wide speakers.

Setup and Use

Featuring a graphical on-screen display, the SR7010 guides you through the setup process that ensures the right configuration during setup. The Setup Assistant and the included Quick Start guide together provide easy setup guidance, optimizing critical settings for optimal sound quality with your particular equipment configuration.

Multi-Room Enjoyment

You can enjoy your favorite movie in the main room, while others enjoy stereo sound from different sources in 2 other rooms. The SR7010 is equipped with speaker connections for a 2nd stereo zone, and pre-amp outputs for a 3rd stereo zone. There's also a dedicated HDMI output for 2nd-zone audio and video so you can watch and enjoy 2 different video sources at the same time.

Dual Subwoofer Outputs

You can connect two subs and place them in different parts of the room, to provide smooth and accurate deep bass.

Color Coded 4-Way Speaker Terminals

The speaker terminals feature multi-way connection capability to handle a number of speaker cable terminations, including banana plugs. They're also color coded for correct hookup the very first time and color coded speaker cable labels are included.

Convenient USB Port

The convenient front-panel USB port stream tunes directly from your iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad and charge your device at the same time. You can also connect a USB drive and listen to MP3 and WAV files, and the SR7010 features high-resolution audio file compatibility, including DSD (2.8 MHz) and FLAC lossless decoding up to 24-bit/192-kHz.

Smart Select Functions

There are 4 Smart Select function buttons on the front panel and the remote control. These let you choose your favorite sources and each one remembers your preferred sound mode for that source.

External Control Capabilities

The SR7010 is equipped with a range of features that provide enhanced control capabilities and compatibility with 3rd-party and custom integration solutions. For remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system, the SR7010 features an IR (infrared) remote control input and remote control output on the rear panel, along with dual 12V trigger outputs. The SR7010 can also be set up and operated by a home computer on the network via IP control, either via wired LAN connection or via Wi-Fi wireless connection. For direct connection to external home automation and control equipment, the SR7010 is equipped with an RS-232C serial port. The SR7010 also features Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) and Crestron Connected certification for quick and easy integration with Control4 and Crestron home automation equipment.

Built-in HD Radio Tuner

Hi everyone, clearly I undervalued what this item was worth and have been overwhelmed by interest in the past 24hrs.

Not a single person haggled me for even a single dollar! Clearly its a steal and I recognise that. Nice problem for me to have I suppose.

I've adjusted the price accordingly. My apologies but I'm not into giving good AV gear away!

Like I said, when not a single person haggles the original asking price and they all want to drive to Bendigo immediately to pick it up, its pretty obvious I'm selling it too cheaply.

Again, apologies for the change but I'm not a charity, nor am I in a rush to sell, and this is genuine gear in excellent condition.

This isn't an auction site. I believe, personally speaking, you should honour the originally offered price, or withdraw your ad.

Surely its the sellers choice based on the guidelines

price spruiking as always.

too many people jump on saying what a bargain something is and makes the seller (who should have done their OWN research) feel they made a price mistake. tough luck imo the seller set the price at $1000 so take the ad down and re advertise it at the higher price.

if someone has offered to pay the advertised price and seller accepts it is a contract and should be honoured.

just stop with posts shouting how cheap something is. no different imo to posting how over priced something is which seems not be allowed for some reason.

Auctions are also not permitted as per the guidelines - and the seller put the price up based on demand, effectively pricing it for the highest willing bidder.

I don't think I've seen this happen, ever.
