Tech help - Epson TW9100 worth fixing?

Looking for an opinion from people with more of a clue than me. A couple of days ago the projector developed issues on the left half of the screen. There is a distortion pattern that is very evident. Note that it is exactly the left half of the screen, in some scenes there is a visible vertical line straight down the middle.  I suspect something fundamental is broken and needs to be replaced, and was wondering if it's worth getting fixed.

Thanks in advance.

This one is the screen setup pattern produced by the projector, so on that basis I'm pretty sure it isn't an HDMI issue. Note what look like "tracks" left of centre.

Closer up.

This is a paused DVD.  Centre of the screen runs down through the right-hand branch of the "V".

Thoughts?
