MooneeBeach
Hi - just setting up a new 4k TV and Blu Ray player. For watching movies in a dark room, should I set both the TV and blu ray player to cinema? - or should it only be applied to one device? Maybe I should set one to normal and the other to cinema? Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer.

His setting should take into account both the tv and bluray settings. Thanks - I might have to do that. I'm worried that I'm applying settings on both the TV and the blu ray player. Expert Dark Room on the tv and movie mode on the Panasonic blu ray player.
idrabble
Until you decide to get a calibration, I would set the player to 'normal' and then the TV to whichever mode suits your eyes best.
MooneeBeach
Ok, will try that, thanks. I think I read that if the disc is HDR10+ or Dolby Digital the signal gets sent 'as is'.
idrabble
Hi Sean, Your TV will most likely automatically switch to a picture mode for HDR (HDR10 or Dolby Vision) but you will most likely have different picture modes within this selection, so again try these to see which best suits your eyes
