USB>SPDIF converter

Recommended Posts

Needing to replace my old Audiophilleo 2.

What are you using for a converter these days? I do want to keep using my Metrum (SPDIF Coax in) DAC so still need to convert USB.

Cheers

Ben

+1 for the Bryston BUC-1.

Neo kindly gave me the heads up on the Bryston a couple of years ago.  Bought one and never looked back.

I have one of these and it's sensational with its ultra low noise and ultra low jitter:

Independent review and measurements here:

I use it for my main hifi as well as my headphone system.

This outperformed the Gustard and Singxer devices I used, even though it was cheaper than the latter.

What's wrong with the Audiophilleo 2? I know they're getting on in age, but I still adore mine.

It unfortunately stopped working ? I was otherwise really happy with it.

Thanks for the insight, I'll keep it in mind. At the moment I'm stunned by the Schiit Loki DSD DAC. I'm committing the mortal sin of upsampling all PCM to DSD64 and I can't believe what I'm hearing. The Metrum may well end up for sale!

I thought the Loki was a preamp/tone control?

Well it is, but prior to it's release they had a Loki DSD DAC. Not sure why they reused the name though.

I had one that stopped working as well.

Contacted Philip (Audiophilleo) and sent it to him.

He fixed and updated to latest specs. From memory about $130..

Interesting. I tried registering it but it already had been by a previous owner. I may follow it up though, thanks.

Had the same registering issue as well - just contact Philip - his customer service is great.
