Yes! The third one is going to be the one that won't be a partner friendly  place.

Recycled timber, old corrugated iron, cunningly hidden bar fridge and wine fridge as well as huntsmen spiders, carpet snakes, spider hornets and 240 ac/dc power and dirt out the front of it and built all the way down the bottom of the block of dirt which is on a steep hill.

Well out of earshot and equipped with all the essentials in case I'm too lazy to walk up the hill to bed.

I'll send her a text letting her know the bedroom is a snore free zone tonight.

I'm enjoying this social isolation.

That's the area at the far end of the other pics. It's under the garage, 4 metre ceiling to suspended garage slab. Constant temp all year round.

Mate wants to put his still in there. He's a cabinet maker... Your still for my wine racks.

You are very wise @Luc ??

I'm not actually.

See the whippersnipper hanging on the wall there?

Been wanting to bang a thingy into a wall to hang the snipper out of the way for yonks.

Dragged the boss down to view the first use of the enlarged space for ..erm..storage and.. she said: Nice. What about the fuel dripping out onto the new floor?

Facepalm! don't hang your whippersnipper upside down. D'oh!

Bought a table for $20 from Gumtree and luckily had room in the bedroom to set it up. Grabbed my monitor and chair from the office. Great excuse to use my Audio-gd Dac/pre and Audioengine A5 speakers which had been in storage. Still amazed how well these speakers image in a near-field set-up. Going to be difficult to give this up once we reach the other side!

Look nice.  I'm thinking of buying new recliners for working from home. I checked reviews here to find the best one.  There are so many models on Amazon for sale right now.  I like this one

Been working from home for a while now. Can't actually imagine going back into an office environment!

I'm lucky enough to have two options - one standing desk (behind the bar) and one sat (at the bar).

Temptation is a killer though..

I'm just retired. But my study setup is very minimalistic. Just a CD Receiver set up. A Denon UD-M31.

Though the speakers say Denon, they are Mission speakers. Basic l know, but they chuck out a half decent sound. Has served me well for 16 years. For 14 of those it was my bedroom set up.  I now on occasion listen from a bean bag. But is pretty much obsolete, as l have a designated music room; having moving 2 years ago.

I had that same UD-M31 + Mission speakers ("Designed and Engineered for Denon by Mission") combo and those speakers were/are amazeballs!  They used to be the 2.0 living room system a largeish 5.5 x 12 x 3 ceiling room and i clearly remember a time from 7-8 years ago the kids were watching a movie DVD and from my study i hear this UNREASONABLY LOUD boom crash action scene (with clarity)...i thought the little Bs had cranked the volume to 11, but no, as i strode in to tell them to turn it down the movie had returned to dialogue at the level i would have selected for them...i.e. those squat pleasingly heavy-for-size but unassuming 2 ways had an impressive dynamic range!!  A year or so later? when the UD-M31 started playing up i bought the M38 and simply sold the new speakers (unopened) and kept the Missions.

So my setup has gone through a few... changes over the last month or so.  God I hope I can claim some of this on my tax, because I seem to have wasted some money I wouldn't have otherwise .

Got a different mouse, my usual one wasn't ideal for actual work, as opposed to casual use.  Had to get a proper chair, a ball or dining chair were uncomfortable as hell after a few hours.  Got a laptop riser.  That actually improved the keyboard and monitor usage a fair bit actually.  Still waiting on the mechanical keyboard I bought a month and a half ago.  I'm guessing that's going to turn into a Paypal sh*tfight probably.  Bought a desk lamp because it was a bit dark in this corner.  I may have bought some speakers.  Okay, that one was silly and unnecessary.  ?‍♂️ Also then I needed to buy an amp too.  Then didn't have enough room on this little desk for the light and speakers.  So now it's only providing a bit of monitor backlighting.  :hmm:  Knocked up some speakers stands to improve the sound.  I reckon they match the aesthetic of the speakers (and it did improve the sound), but damn they look rough up close.  :D Got a bigger 1440p monitor, I should have just done that in the first place.  Now it's okay.  Although I don't have enough room for both monitors unfortunately.  The new monitor was a bit low though, it's currently sitting on a box and is a bit wobbly, so knocked up a riser this arvo out of the leftover MDF I cannibalised for the speakers stand.  Will paint that tomorrow.  And bought some more MDF today to replace that shelf...   And added that little plant.

I've almost got a point where I could continue working like this now, although the desk is a bit wobbly, so am still having serious thoughts about making some longer legs for a coffee table I'm not using and turning that into a new desk.  Well.  Based on what I've made so far, *trying* to make some legs.

And yes, I broke out the cheaparse electric heater because it's been cold the last couple of days and I wanted to keep my feet toasty...

Really though my office has direct line of sight to my second main system so I mostly listen to CD's. Less than a 10th of the cost of my main but really a sideways step in terms of sound.

Note the CD's stacked everywhere.  I really should put them away after use.

My 1st main system is more accurate and dynamic,  but this system really has that X Factor. Just magic. Interestingly I find less dynamics makes this system sound better for low volume playback than my main. The Muji Studio DAC II has had quite a few upgrades and modifucations over stock though. In it's stock form it really is nothing special. The same goes for the Oatlon W2-1000F speakers. The John Lindsay Hood 1969 amp is fully stock though.

So this room was effectively empty pre-COVID. Now it’s a full blown ‘I’m never going back to the office’ setup. Well, 4 days a week from August I’ve told them.

Started with a desk made from drawers and a kitchen top from IKEA, dragged my work monitors and chair home and got going. This didn’t last long and I took my chair and monitor back to the office to by my own.

Some online shopping and a month later it’s like this. Everything bar the MacBook Pro is post COVID. Tax will be somewhat interesting this year I think lol.

I’m running out of space to add DAC/AMP combos and additional headphones!

Well to be very honest, It was quite difficult situation for me because I don't like working from home as we always get lazy while working at home. So it was difficult for me. However I had to tackle this situation so I decided to setup my office at home.

I started looking for a comfortable office chair and a table desk, then had checked so many online reviews and then ended up buying Herman Miller Sayl after reading about it here.

The starting was bit difficult then things started getting normal to me.

I have a stand for the Macbook, and another for the monitor on their way. open plan area, with the system in the 'other half' of the area.
