wen
yes they are the Wild Burro Betsy-K, not the most ideal for open baffle due to lower Qts, will be building enclosures once finances able to buy wood
oohms
You can increase Qts with a series resistor

mrbugeyes
Jaycar have some excellent books and kits for beginners. When you solder up your fist little kit and it works, you will be hooked. Cheers M.
Sub Sonic
Thought I’d have another play with the track saw and home made jig, so I started on a couple of septagonal cabinets. They will probably end up with a small wide range driver. The jig works an absolute treat, these cabinets (or this part of them anyway!) were cut and glued in less than an hour SS Edited April 7, 2020 by Sub Sonic

My house is supplied with 3 phase, 240v 50Hz - 3 phase is needed to drive the lift and the car stacker. (But I use 1 of the phases for my music system - so when the lift/car stacker ain't working ... it's dedicated to my music. ) Andy http://www.gohz.com/why-we-use-115v-400hz-power-supply-in-aircraft

Hawkeye
Just stumbled across this thread. My lockdown project. Just finished my first attempt. Not exactly hifi, more like low tech carpentry. Ido love the sound of cigarbox slide. Ironically I can't play a note. Damn arthritis in the fingers is a b!t*h. Had a work mate knock out a tune, sounds great. Next project some transmission line speakers.
