I have had it serviced, recapped, replaced the speaker terminals and AC power lead.

Sounds superb.

G'day Mr Partridge, I know it's been a while since this post but who did you get your Sansui serviced by? my Sansui power amp recently had one of it's speaker terminals broken so want to find someone to replace/repair it.

when I bought it, it was not used for a period of time but I had checked over and since then it's had a  couple of years of use and wanted to retest caps and what not also.

Thanks again.

Hello Mike, I used Chamilla at RF Waves Australia in Hammersley. 9342 7161

He also replaced the speaker terminals.

Appears to have done a good job.

Its a bit big-- bout 33kg?? but its the circuit in this beast that is the goods...Rated about 170w-180w-@8ohm. I posted about it earlier

Oh yes, I remember that thread now....

I genuinely hope you store these classics in a environment controlled room with gas fire suppressors and a big intruder alarm. The world needs to keep these alive for as long as is possible :)

Saved a STR-7065A from a neighbours garbage. Cleaned 30 years of nicotine off the face and case. So bad I thought it had a bronze/gold finish. She cleaned up well and is as sweet as can be. Beautiful Japanese design and engineering.

My STR-7065A has a wonderful sound thats easy on the ears, yet fills my ears with great separation of highs, mids, and lows from a pair of GNP Valkyries. All powered by the Sony. When wanted, the pre out/in jacks are great to have. Also theres three sets of speaker connectors, screw type.
The radio pulls in from afar. Clear.
The build is very compact inside and designed well.
Nice since this is not light weight.
I love the classic silver styling accented by the green illumination.
All original and still keeps trucking!

Naaaaw you kept grandpa’s amp

I hear my maternal grandpa was a bit of an audiophile for his time.

Also a huge womaniser while the grandma worked hard to raise their kids.
