Well its been a while now GG..

How have you been?

Oh yes you can, you will need to get an HDMI to cat5 converter and a cat5 to HDMI converter. These can do very long runs.

Available from Jaycar.

Not sure what features you want out of your HDMI cables, but for 1.4a complete functionality, you're going to need 29 individual conductors.

Network cables only have around 8.

1.4a hdmi is only required for 3d hdmi transfer, its not that it uses any more bandwidth, its just the hdmi to cat6 chips can't handle how to process it. This link here shows items that are compatible with 3d if you will go down that path.

theres are excellent

http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdmi-over-cat6.html

it uses two runs of cat 6, one for audio one for video.

there are two types either a baln transformer or chip based which are more expensive.

I have a 25meter hdmi run from my dvdo hd video processor to my projector, 1080p, no problems whatsoever!

two runs of cat6

We are about to install some Obonok Bluewire units in a professional install. They use a single Cat 6 cable. Tests so far have been excellent. The run is about 40 metres.

They will also take serial control down the same cable with optional aux units.
