Help with Project RPM 4

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I got my Ortofon Black professionally installed on my Pro-Ject but I got this annoying issue, after playing for a while, over one hour, the TT does the noise shown on the video, can it be this related to the power supply? My NUC was making some noise when connected to my DAC and got fixed by replacing the power supply

Forgot to mention that the issues goes away by unplugging it and leave it rest

thanks

Try putting a drop of oil into the motor where the spindle shaft exits. Sewing machine oil or synthetic motor oil will do.

Thanks guys, because of your answers I should assume that there’s nothing wrong with the power supply

Hard to tell from the video. The first port of call though is to lubricate the motor. Look further if that doesn’t work.

Thanks, can I use push bike oil? Is all I have, otherwise I’ll buy the one you mentioned before.

Should be fine if it is not a heavy grade oil.

I have put the oil as I was recommended, I bought a Singer one used on sewing machines, but didn’t work :(.

What will be my next step? Try a different PS?
