On to some Big Pig in white vinyl.     As I was about to post my 11 year old son saw @metal beat post and commented very favourably on the magnificent orange and yellow vinyl.  He then quickly

Hi All,   A Perfect Circle ‎– Mer De Noms. Didn't play it as I have a black copy for that 😊. Just thought it looks good.     JJ

2019 EU reissue blue vinyl with silver glitters

Glitters vinyl for Xmas? Why not! I wasn’t going to get this just too gimmicky but the original is too dear! Saw a price dropped on Amazon and couldn’t resist. Luckily the SQ is just as good as the rest of RH records I have. No hesitation needed if you are also sitting on the fence.

Got it too (both copies) and agree.

Today:

Brian Jonestown Massacre - ST

I don't hear any 'genius' here - I hear a tired old guy rehashing the same well-worn forumla for more than 20 years.

They have some great albums in their oeuvre (and it must be 'ouevre', as Anton doesn't make anything that isn't 'A.R.T.'), but this isn't one of them.

the thing about Anton and BJM is most of their music does sound similar superficially.   you need to spend some time and play them a few times to " get it" and the subtleties.

personally, there are some ripper tracks on this album and the album is above average for a BJM album.     might give it a spin tonight actually.

I've heard this before, and disagree.

I've got 5 BJM albums, and recognise what I enjoy to be different in each pretty much immediately.
This one is just more of the same for me, unfortunately.

that is the joy of music, everyone has a different opinion.

I have all their albums and I can differentiate the differences and similarities on all their albums, however some of them took quite a bit more than one or two listens.

You definitely would not like every Kurt Vile as on first listen, most songs are exactly the same.

the choice for you is easy - flip it  :)

A present from my daughter for Christmas.  A new jazz artist for me, originally recorded in 1975. Not my favourite style of jazz but some nice instrumentation.

Hey @Janjuc are you sure that Anima is coloured? 😀

This was one of my presents to my son for XMas and he gave it a spin today. Better than I expected.

The Verve - Urban Hymns

Nothing needs to be said about the quality of the music itself, just the pressing.

This is the recent UK green vinyl using the same masters as the best copy available before that, and it sounds great. However I don’t have another version presently to compare to, so take that for what its worth.

Either way, a satisfying listen. 👌

Wow I owe you a BIG thank you. I didn’t know this recently came out on vinyl. I have the CD and surprised it still plays after how many times I played this in the car 🙂

Just ordered. So excited to play it now.

These must be some of the most colourful vinyl and fantastic packaging! Although I don’t like the middle pocket. Great SQ & quiet too!

totally agree.  excellent package from the lads and the coloured vinyl is good.  Just would have been better if black vinyl was a choice.

Ok, been URCM’ing this morning during the cricket and now some time for listening during the tea break. Purchased this one for $2 from Air Raid Records solely for the port wine smokey swirl coloured vinyl. Had to take a non playing view so @Janjuc didn’t think I made an accidental post. Surprisingly good track and sonics. Some nice doof doof bass. Horny Records 45rpm

I am very wary of purchasing ‘live’ albums because I often find the sonics pretty awful, though some noticeable exceptions with Train’s ‘Live at Last’ and Tesky Bros ‘Live at the Forum’. Not the greatest fan of U2 but overcame my prejudices because this was coloured vinyl. Australian pressing for a 1984 Australian tour but all the 8 songs (only 1 of their hits) were recorded on overseas live venues. Not a bad recording for a live set so a good result

One of the ten LPs I picked up over the new year.

The Bronx - V. This is a delicious deep orange transparent that isn't truly captured in my photo, with a blob centre. The music is pretty rockin' too.

I haven't been on the forums lately, but just looked through this page and there's some tasty looking wax here folks! Some good covers too, especially the rings of saturn consisting of skulls and bones.

Have had the black vinyl for a couple of years, just thought I'd get the coloured to hear if there is any difference, very little to these old ears 😆😂🤣
