Had the same thought.  I do like the At-3600L though.  It is actually discontinued I believe, but it does perform reasonably well, but is better suited to <$1000 tables.

The AT-3600L seems to be easily available via ebay/china, as an OEM cart.  I haven't heard of it being discontinued, if it is I would suggest buying a heap while they are still around.  

 

The AT-3600L is a highly-regarded audiophile secret - a $18 cart that many feel holds it's own against competing cart's costing $100's more.  It's more suited to heavier arms.  Excellent at the price for a second cart/headshell for playing damaged records.  If it gets damaged a replacement cart+stylus is cheaper than the replacement styli!

It may be discontinued because of all the fakes and unbranded knock offs on ebay!

Some people will go to any length to get their supply of crystal meth, although in this instance they may well want their money back

I don't know, I think sometimes analog is just that little bit more intoxicating than digital.
