audiodyna
SOLD Item: Sonic Frontier SFL-2 Vacuum Tubes Line Pream Location: Perth Price: $2300.00 (postage not included) Item Condition: 8/10 Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The amp is in excellent condition, had been testing for the past two weeks without any problem. Some sign of cosmetic wear but consider overall very good in consideration of its age. It's a dual chassis professional model with external heavy duty power supply. Running as all balanced circuitry, using 8xSovtek 6922 tubes which are in perfect working condition. Sonic Frontier is always been highly regarded as a manufacturer who used parts of audiophile grade. It had been voted by Stereophile as "Class A Component of the Year". Weight is about 25kg before packing, should be around 32kg after packing. I don't have original box but will try my best to pack securely if there is a need to send to other states. I have some good protective packing materials which was used in other hifi products. Prefer local pick up and full demonstration can be arranged. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

rockeater
If I were ever to go the valve way, this is probably what I would want to get. Not many balanced designs with valves our there. Most companies just build cheap single ended stuff. I think Mr Sergio Mendes, you should bring one of your wine bottles to this guy and convince him to bring it over to your place for comparison. But then you would have to start the hunt for a proper balanced power amp.

audiodyna
Sonic Frontier was originally distributor for good quality hifi components in Canada. They are really expert in selecting right components in building quality products. The parts used in their products are all of premium grade and received a lot of positive reviews. Nowadays a used preamp of this quality with outboard power supply will easily cost more than double.
Guest deanB
I bought a SFL-1 from @audiodyna last year. It's a single ended hybrid and is a gem. It's tied my system together and I look forward to flicking that toggle switch on every chance I get. The SFL-2 will make it's savvy and discerning buyer very happy. soundfan
I used to own the SFL-2 pre-amp with the gold front face. A nice pre, and I found it benefited with tube rolling.
audiodyna
It's a pleasure to have known a nice guy like DeanB. He is so knowledgeable and helpful, I always benefit from his experience. And he updated me on the improvement of using different valves in his SFL-1.

That goes both ways. I see the SFL-2 has Direct input selection for the balanced input and 1 pair of rca inputs. Ideal if a system has more than one source and the leap in sq using Direct mode is obvious. Good luck with the sale.
