scuderia_nifty
Apologies for what may seem a naive question but can’t find any links on the site ...unless my search skills are rubbish! Rifling through boxes looking for interconnects and came across these C2S tributaries. Don’t remember ever having them hooked up - purchased as part of a setup in early 2000’s - expect they are redundant technology nowadays. Must have bought for a reason but it escapes me...happy to be educated. Edited January 12, 2020 by scuderia_nifty More info
audiofeline
According to this pic of the packet on Amazon, the Tributaries C2S "converts composite video to s-video". Can't see anyone wanting to do that now. They might be useful to harvest the connectors and possibly the cable for another application.

t_mike
Here was me thinking that tributaries were creeks that formed part of a river system. Contributaries flow into a river and contribute to the water supply, and distributaries flow out of a river and distribute the water around the land mass. Seems I need to go back to school.
scuderia_nifty
Thanks everyone - C2S (Composite 2 S-video) was a bit of giveaway now I think about it...and for refreshing my knowledge on the nomenclature of river systems Looks like they will have to go into the 'museum' drawer or offload
