Zu Audio Denon 103R finally fitted to the Wand Tonearm.
No idea how it sounds as I’m between systems at the moment.
Now to put the cart through the Fozgometer kindly lent by @Tubularbells

Bring it out from the bench dynavector karat 17d2 such a relaxed but really detailed cartridge. Running on sp10 mk2 with a highly modified rega rb300. Still one of the hardest cartridge I have to setup

I have the 17d3 and when I first brought it home I thought I was dudded - couldn’t see the cantilever. At 1.7mm it is tiny.  Best set up by someone with good eyesight.

I’ve had three SL10 that had broken 310’s when I bought them. Never got to hear the combo.

Beautiful P Mounts ?

You bought 3 x SL10's?   still have them?   I guess a lot of people who owned the SL-10 did not quite look after the linear tracking table.     a pretty good cart.

Hi Peter,  Technics SL1000Mk3D tonearm - P mount version of the EPA-100 mk2 specifically made as the top dog Technics table back in 1981.

what do you find the differences are between the Phonobox and the 834P.    with the Quintet Black?

Definitely both wonderful phono pres for the money, but the 834P is just so much more musical, engaging, spacious and of course gorgeous!

Lovely to see this gear.

How do these two carts compare?

I had a 310MC and P22, but was always curious how the 100c sounded - a rare classic I have never heard!

The 310MC is a nice cartridge.   The P1000MK4 is in another league. It's that good.  One of the best carts ever made.

  Cheers

Yeah it's so tiny... I used a magnifying glass to align it

I too have a dead 310MC (was hoping it was repairable to complete my SL10) alas the tragedy is, I have been told they are destroyed by any attempt to open them.

Not sure why so many of them developed open circuit faults, seems unlikely to be all down to "bad handling".

Wonder what people have found to be the next best thing for the SL10?

P100CMk4 sounds like something even better and even harder to find.

Cheers

I am not sure, I bought my 310MC NOS from a mate of mine, as a back up to the P1000MK4 .

Unlikely you will ever find a P1000MK4 as they are rare as hens teeth these days.   I have had mine for just on 10 years now, so it's only used sparingly as replacement stylus are no longer available.
