Andrews_melb
Not a fancy cart, but sounds good to me. Its waiting for its better half to come along, a p77i. I find that when i crank it real loud this cart shows up some muddyness. Not sure why. The 2m black didnt do it.
Beeman
"I find that when i crank it real loud this cart shows up some muddyness" Could be some sound vibration making it to the stylus at high volume?
Hydrology
Different stylus profile?
Andrews_melb
@Beeman yeah possibly, although my 2m black would play crystal clear. I think the garrott k2 is ellip stylus profile, although i would think it would matter. Maybe a few dirty records, Showing up the muddy sound when it goes from a nice foot tap volume to a cranked up volume

Guest gnnett
Love the Supex clan. My main squeeze at the moment: Although I have been told to try something modern, rather than my "old man" cartridges. Will give this a go: Cheers Gn

A great, out of the box combo. I am hoping the Wood doesn't loose any of the emotion that the Supex provides, I am a bit of an old romantic. The cover looked a bit ratty and in need of refurbishing. Was your cover already mint, or can you connect me with the knowledge, or source of skills to do a beautiful job like yours? What is the base? Oops a little off topic. welly
Two relatively new additions... Cartridge is an Audio Technica VM750SH, which I bought (for a good price), while visiting Japan last October. The phono stage is the Graham Slee Accession MM, which was delivered this week (while I was away for work ) . Set it up this morning... I've had the loaner unit from Wyndham Audio in the system for the last few weeks and was really liking how it performed in my system. Just got run this one in, but it already sounds gooood!
metal beat
Accuphase C-37, 3 input phono stage with memory and separate ground connections, connected with Diectrich aka Acoustical Solutions silver 4 input selector with separate grounds. This config gives me 6 phono inputs - using 4 atm as the Linn phono cable is not long enough. After the most painful break in known to man, the Accuphase is certainly the most pleasurable phono stage I have had the pleasure of using over the years. uber2
Having had Benz Micro Ebony H and enjoyed it for many years, its time to try something new in the low output range: Transfigutation Proteus. I pulled out the cheap eBay microscope for examination and it all looks good. The phono stage is the Nagra BPS, a qute little unit: Edited March 20, 2019 by uber2
