Into the Void and Just Like You Imagined are amazing system test pieces.

I would put that album up with DSOTM as a reference Hi Fi listen.

Totally agree. I ABSOLUTELY love those tracks. In fact, I love all tracks on that album

Lady Gaga - Chromatica : I used to think she was a bit of a joke but since having a good listen I think she has oodles of talent.

Yeah I've never been a fan. But the wife wanted to listen to it and I must say it does sound good (over the FLAC version I have)

I think I'm a fan now, god help me ? It can get scarier too. Have a listen to Dua Lipa - Future Nostalgia, same kinda deal. I think you have to go into listening to music with an open mind and not just judge from reputation of that genre. If it's talent, it's talent no matter what style of music. There is some junk out there though ? ?

Yeah I have listened to Dua Lipa. Nice recording. I am now auditioning music I'd not normally listen to. With a good system some can sound really good.

@musicbee

Threads have titles for a reason. Please show some respect to the OP by either responding as requested or taking your off-topic comments elsewhere.

Apologies @musicbee. While you have been making off-topic posts, I now see that I should have added @PCOWandre to the above comment.

It was he, in fact, that took the thread totally off-topic  and showed initial disrespect for the OP by posting opinions that belong in other threads.

So let's get back to recommended MQA tracks.

Thanks

Love that Dua Lipa song "don't come out, don't show up" dunno the title. Good, clean file too. That's an example of when pop is good, it really does appeal to the populous. It's very catchy and I love the little cow bell or whatever it is.

I think the same re: Gaga. Not a fan of her music but she's got a few tracks I enjoy. I like her as a concept artist mostly. How she creates her look for different albums with the latest being particularly cyberpunk cool. I don't think I've heard any of that album yet though.

Yeah the song is called 'Don't start now', I think most of the album is catchy. Gaga;s album is also very catchy. Have a listen to 'Stupid Love', great song. She is very clever the way she structures her music, can tell she hangs around Madonna!

Just had a listen to most of the tracks and very special Covid isolation release from Elbow - Elbowrooms on Tidal Masters.

Apparently individually recorded from their separate homes, but the Quality of performance and sound is very good!

Highly Recommended. ?

Not an album (kind of) but listening to the Red Hot Chili Pepper Tidal Masters collection and loving it.

Having gotten into RHCP in my youth, I stopped really following them after the 90s, but listening to this reminds me, even though their more recent stuff is more cruisy, there's some great songs too, e.g: Otherside, By The Way, Californication. Probably more my speed these days actually.

Totally agree with this. I am a huge RHCP fan and BSSM is one of my reference albums. Every track on that album is killer and The Reducer (Rick Ruben) stripped everything back to the bare essentials after the heavily 80s produced Mother’s Milk (which I still love, particularly as it was John’s first album). The space between the instruments on BSSM is amazing and Tidal MQA lifts it up a few notches. A good test is the piano note ringing out at the end of Under the Bridge, leading straight into Naked in the Rain drums. Amazing stuff!

But I have also been getting into Californication lately also. Whilst more compressed in its production, Chad’s playing is off the hook, with ghost notes everywhere that jump out at you via MQA. Really recommended. Otherside really touches me every time I hear it.

Double Fantasy (stripped down mix) - John Lennon

ok it's a totally different mix to the original, but I just love the anti-gloss vocals (as in it's pretty raw and quite amazing sounding)

I've listened to all of those. The first two are great, especially the first, what a cracker of an album.

On an electronic music tip...the  Pantha du Prince - Conference of Trees album in masters format on Tidal sounds excellent . Some very nice ambient at the start and really starts to kick along as the album unfolds.
