Still have my '84 copy if Love Over Gold when year 11 (Form 5!!!). Has a few crackles, but still sounds pretty impressive. Probably consider Making movies, mainly for Romeo and Juliet and Skateaway.

Have double LP best of, so that will suffice.

Bit of trivia, Skateaway, first heard and saw it, on, of all shows, ....Kenny Everett!....... a long time ago.!!

Chuckling now..... Captain Kremmen!!!.....Carla...oo-eee!!

In a crisp English accent... Kemmen of the Star Corps.   Hi Kids!  Kremmen here!

President : Kremmen, I just want to remind you that I'm a country member.

Kremmen : OK I'll remember.

HAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHA

On topic, I've got copies of these coming as well. It's going to take Mofi some real effort to beat out the Jap Pressing of Love Over Gold - that's one of the best sounding records in my collection.

Do yourself a favour.  Give this Mofi 45rpm reissue a miss.

Search for the original uk vertigo pressings, or the Mercury boxset.

Hey, what’s wrong with the Mofi? Most of my DS albums are the original UK ones :)

Perhaps expand on why?

  • 2 weeks later...

I bought the self titled DS last week and initial impression is very favorable!

Massive Improvement over the recent  Ludwig remaster , much more dynamic and extra depth and punch to bass .

Will be buying another of these very soon,  hard to decide between Brothers in Arms or Love over Gold.

Actually I already have an older version 45 original master of BIA , so imagine less different in quality.

Edit; impatient lot !! ?

Bloody crickets!

Come on you bludgers who have these and won't open up. Are they any good? If not, why not?

They're all gobsmacked with disappointment, all wondering 'who's gunna fess up first?'?

Come on guys, give us something!

Even someone who's got them is asking!?

I received my 4 yesterday.......In short ...."STUNNING".

The detail is fantastic and it takes the recordings to another level, on my system anyway. Worthwhile purchase if your serious about Audiophile quality vinyl.

I have Maxicuts and Pallas pressings but these mofi's blow me away.

Very happy ?

I have all four of the new ones, and the older MOFI (but unopened) B.I.A.  Sorry, won't be opening mine until the loungeroom system is up and running...new speakers arriving any day now, then need to source an amp, cables, cabinet.

Yeah, it's going to be a while...

I just ordered my copies from Selby's. Just from a brief google search they seemed to be the cheapest option at $105 each including delivery.

I have the Pallas reissues as well as the original UK pressings so I will provide my comparisons when I get them.
