Good post Snoopy, Luckily my Elektra will taker care of over half my speakers, and most likely i upgrade it to run 7 speakers, then down the track if needed my a second hand power amp for the rest of the speakers, or something similar like Emotiva XPA11.

My only concern now, thanks to all the good replies i got so far is to get receiver that has all latest tech, sound codecs etc..

Serenty any denon/marantz from 2016 onwards will be fine... just dont go based models and you get decent EQ eg audyssey xt32 and such. as do up in the ranges of these brands you tend to get better dacs/pre stages/analog stages/power supplies and such.

Snoopy is right an avr 2016 onward would be fine.

There are some good deals out there, I ordered a x3600 for my dad and should get it later this week. The same shop gave me a great price on the 6014 the different is about $200.

In my system, I prefer the Elektra over the emotiva. Also, the 8 of the 11 cards in the xpa11 are shared units, halve the power of the main 3 cards.
