todagt
Might have to get a set of these. Looks so handy, and good thing I no longer have the 803Ds with their top mounted tweeters.
Guest Muon N'
Is it really needed, I mean, can't people do the same without it? I guess It's still cool, it has lasers I suppose if time poor it has an advantage for sure Is it child an pet safe?
todagt
Will make life easier for those who have to do this often, and on your own.
Guest Muon N'
I definitely agree I don't know the laser strength so would keep pets and children out of the room in use. Maybe nothing to be worried about but if they are strong enough to damage eye sight *shrug* Just a passing thought.
cafe67
Would imagine to be brought into Australia it would have to comply with safety Regs. one of the shops here in Perth , is using them, apparently, you get a pair of send boxes, one for each speaker. So yes for hifi shops they would be handy
Steffen
Lasers are handy, especially for repeatable results. I'm using a pair of these and a long ruler at the listening position for adjusting and documenting toe-in angles.

Where do l buy one and how much? 2
agelessgoodguy
I'd imagine for rounded top speakers etc one could buy some light foam and shape it on the underside with an electric carving knife or similar to suit the speaker 's shape leaving the top surface flat and then you'd be back in the game again. Interesting device.
Kaynin
Does a laser light perform the same as a sound wave at reflection points?

It doesn't have to, the laser is only showing the centre focus of the speaker alignment, as well as a representative laterally equal coverage zone. Different frequencies would likely have different effective coverage angles, but it gives you something to work with to keep angular symmetry at least. Make a template on speaker top, setup a mini tripod on template, attach laser tool, tweak and measure, rotate laser tool to angle 1, measure again... etc. You get distance which I don't believe you get in the Kalsu?
