Thanks For The Dance was on the Anjani album Blue Alert. Music by her, lyrics by Lenny IIRC. I'm guessing that Mr Cohen re-recorded it with his own vocals this time. --Geoff
buddyev
Excellent - late life Cohen was a real high point.
mwhouston
I never liked Cohen. I was into Hendrix, Cream etc. But I heard his “Darker” CD and downloaded it. I liked it so much I downloaded his second last recoding. I think it was better. But the rest I think are ordinary. Just me. But I did buy is double LP on 180gm vinyl “Songs of the road” and love it, all bar a track or so. Unfortunately they used compression on his voice for the live recording which adds an etched type distortion. If you can listen past that it’s a good double LP set. TerryO
Must admit this latest album is for me in places a little to dark, but no doubt it will grow on me with time. Hallelujah is great but Mr Cohen has many masterpieces that can be attributed to him that I like to listen to just as much. cheers, Terry Edited February 18, 2020 by TerryO
